Pavlik just lost me as a fan.How soon he forgets his roots, which was one of his redeeming qualities.I wonder how his people in Youngstown feel about this nitwit now.:tong

I hope he was misquoted - that's some dumb **** to say, especially openly shitting on Showtime. When all you have to say is "I'm happy at middleweight and want to make my legacy there/HBO has been good to me, I feel a loyalty to them", this is what comes out? Really surprising.

Yea thats very disappointing. He sounds like a ****in promoter. I loved Kelley for fightin everyone.
This money talk takes away from the people who love him. It's a ****in recession no one wants to hear you bitchin about 2 mil. Sayin the guys in the supermiddle tourney are fightin for peanuts. It's ****in pride and legacy. The best godamn thing that's happened in boxing for years.
Does he forget he just came off a devastating loss. He is not a big player for any network right now.

Pavlik, got his facts wrong. 3-4 million is what Dirrel and Ward are making, the others are making 7 million for their participation, and it appears to be only for the first 3 fights. There should be some incentives too.

That's pretty good money for 18 months of work, if you ask me.

Wow - I used to really like Pavlik, what happened to him? This guy has been poisoned by Bob Arum. No one watches Showtime? Really? No one watches Pavlik-Mora either!! Pavlik became popular in boxing circles for his 'fight anyone' attitude......Clearly that's long gone.

wow...I used to like Pavlik, he sounds like a cry baby now.....Kelly needs to retract all of these ******ed statements and give props to all of the six men in the tournament and say something like "ill be glad to fight the winner of this tournament"

That's the Pavlik I loved, but honestly, that image was created by a few TV broadcasts. Maybe his true face really shows now?

And maybe there is a little more to the alcohol rumors than just hot air. The refuting statements by Pavlik that I read sounded like an angry kid, not very convincing. He didn't flat out deny a drinking problem either. Alcohol has a way of making a person more narcissistic and unrealistic.

The one thing I think Pavlik was right about is the part about this tournament ruining careers. We'll see at least 1, and maybe as many as 3, fighters come out of this badly damaged. Taylor, Froch, and Abraham get my vote for that. Taylor because I think he's already damaged. Froch because of his style. Abraham because he is very limited, and in way over his head.
