pavlik wants williams and will call him out after he stops espino. the facts are out there about kelly and the past year. as serious as the situation was, it was really quite simple. but simple facts and the rehashing of those very simple facts isnt going to be enough for a lot of people. laying people out is all that matters at this point. kelly knows that. 2010 will be a much different year. the goal is the 2007 version of kelly. and given how thin the mw division is, only a true hater would not want to see the 2007 kelly pavlik again.
Pavlik will call Williams out, but the big question is; Will PW's team allow the fight to happen? Williams struggled with, and some say lost to, the first world class guy he faced above 147. Phillips, Kolle, and an old semi-retired Winky were sitting ducks for PW's agressive style. Now that Team William has seen what happens when Paul gets hit by a live body above 147, I doubt if they'll let KP near him.
If Pavlik lands a right hand on Williams, it will be lights out for Williams. Williams will need more than his criminal judges.
I've always been a fan of Pavlik's and I for one would love to see him on top form!! Like most boxing fans I want the best fighters in the world healthy and fighting the best guys available. Let's hope we see that with Kelly in 2010.
it will be interesting to see what camp williams does. ive read articles where big george has said they are done w/ kelly and are jaded by the previous year and having to train, etc. but i know that kelly will leave no room for interpretation after the fight. he's usually pretty reserved compared to a lot of other boxers but that won't be the case. he knows a lot of people thinks he scared of paul so it will be quite interesting to hear how williams' camp will respond.
i think folks are alittle too hard on Pav right now. The guy got to the top the old fashioned way night after night KO'ing dudes. Beat Taylor when he was still legit (beat B-Hop no bad fighter beats B-Hop) and then out pointed him at a heavier weight. Took the necessary mandatory with Lockett (bum) and then took an ill-advised fight with Hopkins (if your gonna hate on him for having the sack to move up 10 pounds and fight one of the top fighters of the generation then you are crazy). So he gets worked(whether he was sick or not, it doesnt matter, still go worked) Then took a rebound fight with Rubio....am i missing something? Not to mention a staph infection, which if you know anything about, is pretty serious stuff especially when it turns into MRSA. So all in all the guy has went from instant stardom to a string of bad luck that is unbelievable. I say if after the Espino fight he doesnt fight a big name, then have at it and bash him all you want.
Bhop has ****ed him up for life, as he did with Tito, Tarver and Wright. None of these guys have been right since!
The same PW who was repeatedly stunned by Martinez an average punching LMW??? Come on man. If that fight didnt show you PW wouldnt be able to take Pavliks punches then you just hate on PAvlik. I think PW needs to take care of Martinez first.
