    True.

I understand why a lot of fans are saying let Pav fight Lopez before even thinkin' of what's next....and to a large degree, I agree. We do need to see where Kelly really is right now.

But, having been a big fan for a long time, things just "feel" right again around the whole team (it appears to me anyways), and I am real excited to see KP make a run at the top boxing world again.:good

hope so, an improved composed KP would be a riot to see, and thats wat im hoping. things do seem right again so his abilities should be in check. i dont see why the fight cant happen again, the first time around kelly's abilities shined even through martinez win. i really want to see this one again.
no more random business from pavliks camp though. its time to get serious if they want to approach this and get anywhere with it.

You do know that he has confessed to spending time in prison during the 70's due to PCP abuse, right?

I figure that his former cell mate (domestic partner) looked A LOT like Pavlik.

No one is waltzing around anything. You continue to waltz around logic and facts:

    1. Pavlik can't make 160.

    2. Pavlik should have taken his rematch when Martinez was waiting for him to enforce the clause he signed for in the original contract.

    3. Taylor only got a rematch with Pavlik at 166 because he enforced the clause immediately. Stop with the BS about Pavlik "giving" him a rematch. It only happened because Pavlik couldn't get out of it due to the contractually obligated clause Taylor enforced. Pavlik's camp should've learned from that.

    4. No one would be against Pavlik taking the rematch and winning back his belts at 160. That would give him something back moreso than whining over an opportunity he deliberately wasted.

:rofl:rofl:rofl seriously though, I always thought if Kelly really had an A level trainer not a C level like the one he has now he would still be a force. He just cant handle elite fighters like Bhops or Sergio at least not with Loew he cant. Aside from that his problem with the bottle also not helping his career.

Good for him. Pavlik should get another opportunity. He was not dominated anywhere near the extent that many are claiming. In truth Martinez only won by a couple ooints.

Almost every post you make on ESB is aimed to discredit Martinez, or nuthug Pavlik.

At the end of the day, Pavlik hasnt even made his return yet, he has a fight upcoming and theres no reason to bash Martinez as "ducking" Pavlik when Martinez has been fighting top opposition anyway while Pavlik is battling his private life problems

Your type of logic basically means that Pavlik ducked Martinez by not signing the rematch clause. Pavlik ducked Williams because of the Staph infection. Thats not really fair to Pavlik, neither is it fair to say Martinez is ignoring Pavlik at this point (maybe in the future you may be right, but right now you have no proof or meat to back up your claims)

Furthermore Pavlik hasnt properly made it public yet that he wants to fight Martinez, i dont seem to find him "calling him out" Your basing your knowledge on a FACEBOOK conversation with Pavlik, athletes will say anything to their fans just to make them happy. Im pretty sure Pavlik is focusing on his next fight, and maybe afterwards he will call some guys out. Who knows, Pavlik may get KO'd in his next fight, I hope not because he is an exciting fighter but is ridiculously flawed.

On a side note, Chavez Jr would draw as much attention as Pavlik.
The evidence that other posters have presented to prove that a Pavlik fight at this stage for Martinez would be useless is a perfectly acceptable judgement.

I will answer your question. Besides Cotto, Pac and Mayweather the only other $$$$ fights for Martinez are PW 3, believe or not Chavez Jr in Mexico and/or KP. (Notice I said MONEY fights) The thing is, which you don't seem to understand, is that it is not up to the fighters to set up the fights its up to the PROMOTERS! Cotto wanted a fight with Martinez and Martinez wants it too, does that mean it happened? Who is Cotto fighting next? Does it mean Cotto ducked Martinez or that Martinez is picking on some one "smaller since the fight didn't happened? Arum is the one that decided on Cotto's next fight, not Cotto himself. So your argument that Martinez should fight KP next is useless. Martinez nor Pavlik promote themselves.

Pavlik makes his own choices about who he does or does not fight. He has the last word, and that has been in his contract for years. Any fighter who is not willing to take the initiative, and tells his promoter how things are is foolish.

No one is suggesting that Pavlik should fight Martinez without a tune-up. Kelly has a fight this coming Saturday, and Martinez plans to fight again in the fall of this year. Both men can be available for September.

Pavlik passed on the rematch clause because he knew there was no way for him to make 160 and be healthy. He tried to get Martinez to do the same thing for him that he did for Jermain Taylor; give him his rematch at a catchweight. Martinez and diBella would not even discuss the idea.

Sergio beat Kelly at a time when KP was struggling with alcoholism, and had to put him self though absolute hell to make weight. The Betty Ford Center released Pavlik just 10 days before the Martinez fight, and Kelly still weighed 180 pounds with about 8% body fat. Sergio Martinez fought the worst version of Kelly Pavlik that ever stepped in a prize ring, and that is not even debatable.

Martinez enters the ring at around 170 pounds. That's the same as Taylor, Miranda, Zuniga, and normally Pavlik. All those guys were considered BIG middleweights. In other words, Sergio is NOT a small guy at middleweight.

If Martinez wanted to do the right thing, he could state publicly that he realizes Pavlik had serious pre-fight issues, and then tell us those issues do not matter. Tell us 6 pounds mean nothing, and that he can and will beat a 100% healthy Kelly Pavlik at 166 pounds. What would he get more credit for? Chavez jr, or a focused and determined Pavlik at 166?

If Martinez won again, you would just come up with a fresh batch of excuses, like always.

    Enough with the bull****.

What's his excuse for losing to Hopkins? There's no way he said Hopkins was the better man. Fighting out of his weight or some bollocks like that I'm sure.

Boo is generally a good poster but you can't take anything he says seriously when Pavlik is being discussed.
