I've made this point numerous times. You may as well **** in the wind,as try and get sense out of Boo regarding Pavlik. The last 3 rounds of the Martinez fight must have been hell for Pavliks fans,it was embarrassing.

First, I have always given Hopkins credit for fighting an amazing fight, but Hopkins is not the subject under discusion. Marintez is, and Sergio Martinez is barely qualified to mow BHop's lawn.

Second, when it comes to who people should take seriously about Pavlik, I'm one of a small handful of poster who keep their facts straight on the subject.

Let Pavlik win a meaningful fight, or two, and then complain about him not getting a rematch with martinez. He could have taken it after there first fight, but didn't want it. Now, he wants it, but he needs to earn it. Martinez won. It was a great fight, and Pavlik didn't do that bad by any means, but it doesn't warrant a rematch until Pavlik does something!
Martinez isn't getting younger, and wants to work on his legacy while making some $$$. Pavlik doesn't enhance either at this point. It's like Pac rematching Cotto at 154. Only Puerto Ricans who refuse to admit Pac will always beat Cotto, or the people whom hate Cotto and want to see him beat down again...Want to see that ****!

It's generally a good idea to read the thread before you post.

Wonderful -- an emoticon -- why don't you put forth a little effort and tell me what I said that was incorrect, untrue, or illogical?

I read your post, and a few others. I'm not reading 12 pages about Kelly Pavlik! Dude was something special when he beat Taylor, and had a lot of promise. He let things in life drag him down, and he doesn't have the greatest of trainers. If he really means he wants to come back then he needs to drop his trainer first of all. If I were Martinez I wouldn't give him a rematch. If the dude goes and acquires some belts, beats some big names, gets some fans back, and could earn me $/ reputation then i'd rematch him. Pavlik just wants a payday....

I updated a thread about Kelly weighing 166 AFTER a workout for his upcoming fight. I don't know what Martinez is walking around at but I think a fair catch weight fight, including rehydration clause, should be doable.

I know the article is too long for you guys to read so I'll do an except:

Team Pavlik arrived in Kelly’s dressing room at Boardwalk Hall on Saturday night at 8:45 PM. Several minutes later, Dr. Domenic Coletta of the New Jersey Athletic Control Board came into the room to administer the final pre-fight physical. Everything went according to form until Coletta asked, “Are you on any medication?”

    “Yes, sir.”

    “What for?”

    “Bronchitis.”

    “Did you have a fever?”

    “Not today.”

    “Before today?”

    “A hundred and one degrees.”

    “What have you been taking?”

Mike Pavlik handed a sheet of paper to the doctor. “Here’s what they gave Kelly.”

Coletta scanned the list. Mucinex, penicillin (one shot on Wednesday night), and ciprofloxacin (500 mg twice a day through the day of the fight).

I just don't get any of this. Pavlik says he can't make 160 anymore, how can he expect martinez to come up when he is the man at 160 now? Plus Sergio probably can still make 154, he's already moved up, there's no reason for him to move up again, I say this as a fan of Pavlik, I respect Martinez but I'm not a fan, but why the hell should he do anything here? It makes no sense. Pavlik has to move on, he lost fair and square, that can't be argued. He can't make 160, get over it and start making some waves at 168 and forget about it, its one stinking loss. I don't see him calling out Hopkins again? I like Pavlik, I want to see him make a good comeback, but looking back for something that isn't there is a waste of time at this point. Martinez I think knows that he's not moving up past 160 anytime soon or ever.

Yes -- it is doable. The main reason there is so much resistance to the idea in this forum is that people are scared shitless that Pavlik and Leow would prove them wrong.

And if he doesn't give his due to Bhop then he gets reamed for that instead. Grow up. You posted to quick to have read the article. What a surprise.

Same old booradley talking like a ******ed old fart biased Pavlik fan. First off he talks about Martinez fighting smaller fighters like Dzin and Williams? Well didn't Pavlik wanted to fight Williams so badly?????? Ohhhh but i guess it's ok for booradley cause it's Pavlik? His hero?

Second off what does beating Pavlik in the rematch do anything for Martinez career? I mean seriously for real. And lets talk about the rematch clause. You see Taylor had a rematch clause at 164 pounds catchweight in which it was written in the contract when both fighters sign to fight from the beggining. Pavlik could easily do the same with Martinez but he didn't cause i guess he never had trouble of making the weight.

Like i said many times if booradley believes that Martinez beat a weight drain drunk Pavlik then Pavlik ko a badly weight drain Taylor in the first fight.
