Boo, you seem to have followed Pavlik's career pretty closely and prior to his fight with Martinez you wrote a thread about how brutally Pavlik was going to beat Martinez down. At the time I thought you were overly optomistic and I actually chose Martinez to prevail.

I've followed Pav. fairly closely myself on this site and since the Hopkins loss I've had some big doubts about team Pav. From what I have gathererd: They denied too much, made too many excuses, did not treat the infection they way they should have, signed up for Williams prior to being healthy, denied drinking problems.....the list goes on.......

If I recall correctly, after Martinez beat Pav., you were scathing in your critisism toward Pavlik, yet here we about a year later and you are trumpeting for Martinez to fight Pav. again, claiming Martinez is scared, yet Pavlik has done nothing in the ring since their 1st fight and Martinez is looking better than ever. As a fan I wish Kelly well and hope he gets it all together but I do not have concrete evidence that he is back.

Based on Pavliks poor track record since the Hopkins fight, Martinez would be a fool to sign a fall fight until Pavlik prooves that he is back to form and capable of drawing a big audiance again. Once that occurs they can negotiate the whole deal.

Kelly did well to make weight as long as he did. I know people on ESB don't believe it, but in the rest of the world there are things call REASONS. There are different reasons that Martinez was the better man on the night. Do you really believe that Kelly believes that it was Martinez is simply superior in all categories and the weight won't make a difference? Why would Kelly want the rematch if that were the case? 6 pounds? 4 pounds above 160 is a small increment and that is what they originally asked for the fight to be at. That is what? 2.5% difference? I was told the night before that it was very unlikely, win or lose, that we would see Kelly at 160 again because the struggle was just getting to be too much.

If I remember correctly, his trainer said he was going down after the Hopkins fight because that was not the right wieght, even though it was a catch weight. Hey, I wish the best for KP and hope he gets even better than he was at his peak, but I'm not going to rush to judgement (like some fans who **** on him after the Martinez fight), or jump on the bandwagon because he's called out Martinez lately. I'll take it one fight @ a time starting this weekend.

Look enough with the weight drain excuse cause even though i got nothing against you hermit, this stuff about drinking, weight drain is just a bad excuse. I could do the same and say Pavlik ko both Miranda and Taylor first fight cause they both were killing themself to make weight badly. If Pavlik was killing himself to make weight that started back in 06 as the old fart booradley keep mentioning then Pavlik should have put the rematch clause in the contract at a smw catchweight the way Taylor did. But Pavlik didn't do it cause he didn't feel he'll kill himself to make weight. So lets say Martinez did fight Pavlik in the rematch at a catchweight of 165 pounds, what happens if Martinez beat Pavlik again this time? Will you or anybodyelse make another excuse as the reason why Martinez beat Pavlik again?

Booradley is desperately wants Pavlik to beat Martinez. Booradley can't stand the fact that i own him badly. I told him since day 1 that Martinez will beat Pavlik. And what was his answer? "He got no chance vs Pavlik" "Pavlik is undefeated at mw. Pavlik ko every fighters that puts infront of him at mw." "If Williams who's not a true mw can beat Martinez and hit Martinez with alot of shots, Martinez will get his face destroyed by Pavlik."
And do you remember his thread about 24 hours before Martinez leaves the ring on a stretcher? <<<:lol::lol:

So you are saying Martinez is at fault because KP was having problems with the bottle and problems making weight? Sounds like the same excues about weight that Morales is giving about his fights with Manny. I will just let the other members here try to argue with you but I see its just useless. Do you really think it matters to Sergio what you think of him wether he fights KP again or not? Stop trying too hard. If KP wins and keeps on fighting at MW then a clash with Martinez is bound to happen. IF KP wins and decides to fight at 168lbs a clash with Bute, Ward, Froch etc is also bound to happen. KP can't be fighting in between 160lbs and 168lbs.

Loew did use the weight as an excuse after the Hopkins fight.

He said they were going back to Middleweight and staying there.

Since the 2nd Taylor fight, the only way Pavlik has been able to win a fight is to drain down to 160 and fight bums that he has every possible advantage over.

Kelly shouldn't be fighting guys like Martinez being weight drained. Simple as that. Unless he took Martinez to lightly (which I doubt) then you don't need to be in there with this guy whom is in good shape, good speed, good power, etc.
As for Pavlik getting a catchweight...Yeah right. Martinez beat him already, he is P4P #2 fighter in the world, and calls the shots. If I were martinez I wouldn't see what benefit it would be for me to give in to some catchweight demands that favor my opponent. C'mon man...If you were Martinez like you'd give in to that?
He stands nothing to gain from beating Pavlik currently. If Pavlik can win a couple fights, get the momentum, and fans back then Martinez stands something to gain in the future against him. Martinez is 36 years old, and looking for some cash, and legacy, and beating Pavlik doesn't do much for either at this point.
I wish Pavlik all the best in the future, and hope he makes an awesome come back, but seriously...No way does this happen right now. He needs to fight at 168 against the likes of Froch, Abraham, Bute, etc. I'd actually favor him to beat a couple good names at 168 more so than favoring him against Martinez anyways.

Yes, I was very critical of Pavlik after the Martinez fight. In fact, I was down right harsh. However, at the time I did not know that he completed his first stay at Betty Ford just 10 days prior to the fight. Nor did I know that he left Betty Ford weighing 180 pounds. Obviously, that goes back to the lack of honesty from Team Pavlik you mentioned above. One simply must be skeptical about pretty much anything Team Pavlik says.

I have now watched the Pavlik/Martinez fight 10 or 12 times. Watching the fight with full knowledge of what really went on before hand makes a big difference. I am 100% convinced that a healthy, focused and determined Kelly Pavlik would beat the brakes off Matinez

I also believe that it is reasonable for Kelly to ask Sergio to do the same thing for him that he did for Jermain Taylor: Give him a rematch at 166 pounds. Kelly did it. Sergio is not so special that he is above that.

That was written into the rematch clause before the 1st fight ever happened, because JT was already thinking about moving up.

You really need to stop acting like Pavlik did it for JT out of the goodness of his heart, as he had no choice.

Pavlik had a rematch clause, he declined it, and that's it.

The LOOSER does not have the right to re-negotiate a rematch clause to make it easier for him to possibly win.

So let me get this right,Pavlik is unbeatable,he only lose's fights when hes.......

    A) Drunk

    B) Has a Fever

    C) Weight drained

    D) Just Out Of Rehab

    E) All of the Above ??????

Call me old fasioned, but any athelete who is suffering the effects of ........

    A) Is A Disgrace,and shouldn't be allowed near a boxing ring.

    B) Shouldn't Be Allowed to fight by the Fight Doctor, the possible health risks are very serious.

    C) Should have made the fight at a catchweight,or relinquished the belts and moved up.

    D) Is almost certainly unfit to fight due to there state of mind etc (for other reasons look under B).
