BTW, Boo, I completely respect your dedication and loyalty to Pavlik. Boxing needs more passionate fans like you. Respectfully, then, I just don't think you're able to discuss any Pavlik-related issue impartially. You're too invested emotionally.
From a separate interview than the one Lampley cited: "If Pacquiao wants to do a 153 pound catch-weight or somewhere around their, we can probably make it work." http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ill-he-ever-face-cotto-mayweather-or-pacquiao I'm talking about Gabriel Sarmiento, who might not be available for Martinez's next fight due to his extradition problem. I would be saying the same thing if the situation was reversed; even if people don't think Leow is a good trainer, I would never criticize Pavlik for being hesitant to take a big fight if his availability was questionable
February was before the Dzinzurik fight. No way in hell can a guy who looked great at 170 on fight night make 154. If he did, he'd be weight drained and lose.
That **** right there is just so ignorant of people to say, my vocabulary is not adequate to accurately describe just how absolute chicken **** that is.
At the post-fight press conference in March, he repeated that he could probably go to 154. See the article from the Scene "Sergio Martinez: If Cotto is Man Enough, He'll Fight Me" or the video at 5:28 here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEMQYH3t8eY[/ame] He had no problem making 158 for the Williams rematch, even though he weighed even more at the 30 day weigh-in than he did for the Dzinziruk fight.
He gained 11.5 pounds of water weight. There have been junior welters (like Cotto) who gained more than that. Hell, Gatti went from 141 to 160 versus Gamache. (I know the 141 is disputed somewhat, but you get the point.) He claims he can make it. Even if he has to kill himself to do it as Pavlik has done at 160 according to you, right? he'd still get the huge payday if any of the big three would fight him.
:roflatsch ****ing hell. Look what happened in the first fight. Blown-up Welterweight Martinez pwned Pavlik in front of a global audience of millions. He sliced and diced his gormless dial with crisp, precise punches and made his face look like a pizza with extra sauce. :scaredas: Sergio would mercilessly maul Pavlik again, he would probably brutally KO him like he did to Glass Jaw Williams. At which point ESB ChinChecker Productions would dust down the editing suite and make Glass Jaws 4 - When The Glass Cracks.:vonnecunt Some of you nuthuggers need a hard dose of reality. Pavlik needs to worry about this plank he his fighting in May before calling out the pound for pound Elite. :deal And by the way, if Pavlik is supposed to be a Super Middleweight, he should be making noise to fight Bute.:nono Maravilla dice: "Con mis manos de oro, voy a cambiar tu cara hasta la parece como una pizza" :vonnecunt This content is protected Después: This content is protected Pwned.
Best damn post I have ever seen on ESB! And it only doesn't apply to boo who is a huge kelly fan, it also applies to those other fans who see there idol as a god. I don't mind a fight between Martinez/Pavlik but first this is first, Kelly should look good in his next fight and then start calling out people. If not Martinez, then Bute.
Martinez is scared. It's that simple. If he wasn't afraid of this fight he would come out and say something like, "I know Pavlik had serious problems before our first fight, but I'll be more than happy to fight him again at 166 to prove the problems made no difference." If Martinez was the courageous P4P god his fans pretend he is, he'd take the fight.
You are just flat out ******ed. Pavlik chose not to take the rematch. Why would Martinez go chase Pavlik when he already got turned down by him?? Now that Pavlik has become even more irrelevant you want Martinez to make sacrifices to make the fight?? Why?? Why didnt Pavlik do the same and say hey since your moving up to 160 lets meet at a catch weight so its easier for you.
What the Hell is going on with team Pavlik? Did they really call out Martinez 3 times at a catchweight? Based on what accomplishments in the last few years? I'll wait till at least the conclusion of his next fight before I consider evaluating whether or not he deserves a shot at Martinez regardless of weight.
Did Arguello deserve a rematch with Pryor after getting the **** beat out of him and getting knocked out? Did SRL deserve a rematch with Duran after losing clearly on every judges' card? Did Ali deserve a rematch with Frazier after losing by a 7 round margin? Your arguments about who deserves what are nonsense. Name one single opponent, who actually wants the fight, who would bring more intrigue and more money into the fight than Kelly Pavlik!
