I firmly believe that all the **** flying back and forward from the Calzaghe and Pavlik camps is just a marketing ploy to arouse public interest in a fight between the two.If they both win the match-up is inevitable and they both will make mega-bucks.

I think they both have plenty of respect for each other.

If Joe beats RJJ in good style it is up to Pavlik's people to put an offer on the table Joe cant refuse. Anything less than that and you know its all been about trying to get cheap publicity.

If Pavlik really wants it he can make it happen. Simple as that.

And boxing fans would buy the fight, make no mistake.

Boxing fans would certainly pay for this fight and if promoted properly( i think they have already started) there should be plenty of money to go around - IMO it will depend on Calzaghe if this fight happens

I think you may well be right.

On another note though, if Joe loses, I think he will definitely fight Pavlik or rematch Jones. If Joe beats Jones in style I think he may just be tempted to call it a day with his 0 intact.

I've been saying the exact same thing you have about it Iceman. It's all about maximizing interest and dollar potential for the fight. Joe being shitty is more about getting people to have some U.S. opinion and interest in watching him fight, even if it's because they want to see him KO'd. Nothing's worse for selling a fight than indifference towards the fighter, which is kind of how the average US boxing fan viewed him.

Given that it'd be between the Ring champions across 3 weight classes, I don't blame either of them for wanting to make it as big a fight as humanly possible.

Well... and do you think Hopkins REALLY didn't want to lose to a white boy?

Of course it's all hype. 90% is always hype. Tyson eating your childen and Mayorga f* your wife is also hype. But why hype a fight that'll never happen? :huh

Bull! If Pavlik beats Hopkins more convincingly than Joe, the ball is in JOE'S COURT! He is the one that has been documented as ducking.:deal
