No need, Calzaghe would plaster him all over the ring. So would Kessler. I said so before B-Hop showed us. And I'm a big Pavlik fan. Still. He's a great kid with a big heart and an entertaining style.
styles make fights...u r right...how the hell is lavlik's style going to match up with a guy 15 lbs heavier...a million times faster and more elusive...this would be the most 1 sided fight in championship boxing history...and i am more a KP fan than JC...they are not in the same class
Unless Joe can somehow make 160, this might be a smart fight for Kelly. It really would be a repeat of Mikkel Kessler, although like Roy and Bernard, Kelly would floor Joe early.
Pavlik vs. Calzaghe would be a terrible fight. Pavlik is just too slow and he is not much of an inside fighter. But this is the same old trap fans always fall into. They always seem to overrate a big puncher like Pavlik and replay their ko's in their mind until they become convinced he can beat anybody. Fact: a good, slick boxer with veteran skills and fast hands beats a big puncher every day of the week and Twice on Sunday. That said, Pavlik is still a very good fighter. He has good fundamental skills and punches well. But he has very slow feet and he doesn't move well in the ring. He's a aslo very predictable and doesn't seem to possess the ability to change his tactics when something isn't working for him.
