Pavlik cherry picked fight Saturday

The best thing that can/should come out of Sat. is that we find out what type of shape Pavlik is in post "staph".

Regardless of the outcome we will defo have a result & an idea of what Kelly's progress is.

 

Hope Pavs hand turns into mashed potatoes when he tries to punch and he has to stop the fight. And all his 93 loser fans that buy that PPV stinker get juked out of 39 bucks.

 

probably wants to see if hes rebounded from that staph infection.
or hes being very careful of who he fights after getting his ass tapped by hopkins.

 

He's been fighting only the best...he deserves a break sheesh!

 

careful there are some Pavlikers here who will tell you, Espino is a good fighter because hes ranked by the sanctions....

 

Hopkins has a much bigger following and history in boxing vs Pavlik. Point: BHOP fought a tool and he didnt dare PPV that ****, as well as donated some of the monies generated by it. Pav here fighting a tool after not having done ****, and has the audacity to allow his promoter to make the few fans he does have, pay to support him. Pav career has taken 1 bad turn after the next ever since BHOP. The ******* should be paying us to be interested in his shitty white trash boxing career at this point.

 

possibly because hes coming off of a 10 month layoff and recovering from having a staph infection in his hand? i dont know what boxing youve been watching for the past 100 years but when a fighter comes back from that, they dont jump right in a fight the top guys. hes not even a 100 percent, he took the fight to keep him belts.

i dont know, i think given whats happened to him over the past year and what not, i give him credit for fighting to keep his belts when he was not ready.

like i said before....if he doesnt step up to the plate after this fight then we can all bash him up but so far hes done the right things...beat taylor x2, mandatory against lockett, took a bad matchup with bhop (got crushed), fought a rebound fight with rubio, got a staph infection....

 

Here's a few facts for ya genius. 1) This is a Latin Fury card. That's why all the white guys have latino opponents. 2) Latin Fury cards are always Top Rank PPV's. 3) After the Williams fight was off the table, the WBC and WBO gave Pavlik a December 19th deadline to fight or be stripped. Not to difficult to understand once you take your head out of your ass and start following boxing.

 

the fighters dont have anything to do with what is and what is not PPV. Hopkins on the other hand is one of the higher ups at Golden Boy so he can make that kind of call

 

Hope that Pav will fight someone with a pulse in 2010. I expect a KO win on Saturday. Everything else would not be acceptable against that opponent.

 

Of course he has a longer history, he's about 300 years older than kelly! But Kelly definitely has a bigger fan base - there's no doubting that.

That's not true either. His run from Miranda to Taylor II was good, but Lockett, the loss to Hopkins (not even a close loss) and the fight with Rubio reflect badly on him in terms of competition.

But he was willing to come back against Williams - sadly the recurring hand problem ruled that out. But let's ask why Williams didn't want the fight until AFTER Pavlik had lost to Hopkins...?

 

I know it's been said once but maybe needs to be said again...it's a MANDATORY!!! I don't agree with it being a PPV, and think it's a shame the Williams fight didn't come off, but it was either this fight or get stripped of his titles. Try not starting threads that are missing important information.

 

espino isnt a mandatory. what is mandatory, according to the orgs, is that pav fight by the 19th or be stripped. but you are right, the thread omits a lot of important information. of course, its not all that important if you hate kelly which a lot on the board do.
