Sigmon said, “I sadly regret to inform everyone that 37-2 Kelly Pavlik not to fight me. That’s right, he is afraid to fight [an] unskilled, protected ‘club’ fighter.”

Pavlik was clearly flabbergasted by Sigmon’s response.

“There was never a fight scheduled for sure against him!” he wrote in his text. “He was the one that went to some boxing site! "

“I wish I could fight the kid — he is horrible!”

Sigmon (or whatever his name is) should never even be mentioned as an opponent for Pavlik. He is just another American taxi driver.

Pavlik needs to fight someone real.. or just stop.

I'm kind of glad about the Sigmon development. I didn't really want to see an overmatched guy get KO'd in the early going.

As for March 17th.........that's right around the corner. Must be feeling good I guess.

Honestly, I'd match Pavlik tough in his first fight back, not someone he can blast in 3 rounds. Someone that'll push him to work hard and grind rounds out. See if Pavlik is prepared to roll his sleeves up or not.

    Isit 160, 166, or 168 that's being mooted?

Pavlik is looking in great shape he looks a lot healthier then leading up to the fight with Martinez. The other day I was watching some footage of Pavlik about a month before the Martinez fight and he looked bloated and pale. Compared to how he looks now looks like he has lost a couple % of body fat.

The sooner Pavlik gets in the ring the better I can't wait to see him fight, so this is good news.

    Hmmm.

How about Curtis Stevens making a "comeback" at 168? Would be a good scrap with Pavlik who would aim at sticking the heat seeking right hand on target, all night. Nothing like Dirrell-Stevens, obviously.

I was thinking maybe Sam Soliman? Smaller guy with slight name value, I think he's on a winning streak too. He fights a MW right now but if Pavlik wants a few pounds more then I'm sure dollars would convince Soliman.

I think Team Pavlik will look for an American on the comeback or on the decline, and think that Soliman is done with high profile fights being happy fighting in (Australia?).
