Pavlik desire?

    To me, in his comeback, he doesn't really seem to really be going all out. He still doesn't bend his knees and get the leverage into his shots. It really seems like his power is gone. 2008 Pavlik would have crushed this tuneup guys in a round or 2. Does the 8 lbs weight difference make that much difference in his punching power?

    I think the weight difference between mw and smw makes a difference for him power wise, and this is why he doesn't look as destructive, but in reality he fights the same. he just doesn't have the same concussive effect with his punches. his counter right disappeared in his last fight but rosinsky was a mover who had good skills. kelly never looks good against fighters with those attributes. I mean, I don't see kelly becoming a unified smw champion, but he still can achieve at the weight in my opinion, and it will be exciting to see it all play out. pavlik against anyone not named ward is a cracking fight.

    I think kelly should try to get back down to 160 lbs. it isn't like he is ripped at 168. at 160 lbs, i think he still can be the unified champ.

    He is past it, and the weight is a factor. He has never shown ko power above 160. Garcia has doing better though, b/c he is at times smart with his left hook and not so predictable as he was under his former trainer.

    Good fight for both. Either Pavlik bust his glass jaw, or bute just completely ouboxes him for 12 rounds. I lean to the latter, but if Pavlik uses his left smartly, you never know.
