So shut the **** up about Calzaghe and especially Kessler who is essentially an inferior version of Pavlik. Pavlik is a Middleweight, in the tradition of all the great middleweight champions in the history of boxing , not a 168'er, in the tradition of....3 people.
Pavlik should stay at 160 and try to build a legacy for himself at that weight. No need to move up to 168 when he can make good money and probably beat anybody (with Abraham being his by far his most dangerous opponent). Kessler IS better than Pavlik though
I would favor Kessler He has better speed, lateral movement, jab, timing, and accuracy. He'd control the distance between himself and Pavlik and land crisp power punches from a distance. But once again, this fight wont happen anytime soon, so discussing fights like Pavlik/Trinidad, Pavlik/Abraham, and Pavlik/Wright would be more appropriate.
****, 154 is closer to 160 than 168 is. I don't see anybody trashing the 154'ers that would lose to Pavlik (all of them)
Kessler has much better speed than Pavlik from what I've observed. Both footspeed and handspeed. [YT]gnut79s8U-g[/YT]
NO DOUBT!!!! What they're doing would be exactly the same as if after every good 154 fight, Pavlik fans all gather round and shout "OH YEAH, well Pavlik would kick his ass!".:rofl
i believe pavlik should stay at 160 and never move up again, i dont think he gains anything by moving up but loses speed and power for his size.
I think kessler is getting raw deal on this forum he is very formidable. calzaghe is just a real tough matchup and master at defense/angles. pavlik would have all he can handle with mikkel
But he doesn't he is a Middleweight, the best Middleweight in the world, he fights other middleweights. Kessler would get put in a coma against Wlad, should we **** all over him?
If you can not see the difference between your analogy of Pavlik vs Kessler and Kessler vs Wlad, you should swat your hear with a ream of paper.
Of course, but neither one is a reason to degrade a fighter. They are in different divisions, period.
