George Peterson & Bob Arum need to STFU & let Pavlik-Williams happen & set the record straight in the ring!

All the talk in the world outside the ropes is academic. What happens in the ring is what matter & speaks louder than any comments made by promoters, trainers and/or managers.

Just watching live I was kind of surprised that Espino wasn't affected by more of them. He was one scrappy dude to be sure.

Nice one. Don't count out Goosen cashing out on Pdub now though. I think they know after Martinez that their boy ain't what they thought after all. Look for HBO to pressure for this fight. A rematch with Martinez is just about who the judges favor again. I think they may well take the $2 mill and call it a career.

I think Espino elevated himself from nobody to gate keeper. He'd be a good opponent for Jacabs, Korobov, et al, to take a look at.

The guys got heart. I'd like to see him take on a c level fighter or two. Then step back up to a B level.

That's the biggest misconception about that fight, Hopkins hand speed wasn't frustrating Pavlik, it was the accuracy of the punches that was frustrating him.

I think Williams might end up being the next, Goosen has gotta figure the payday vs Pavlik is better than the Martinez rematch, plus the rematch can still be done later in 2010 win or lose vs Pavlik.

I still favor Pavlik, Williams will def be able to land on Kelly but Kelly will def land on Williams too and if Martinez can put Williams down, Pavlik can knock him out.

As far as Smoger, Espino threw a punch after the bell and it was deliberate, the ref laid down the law right there, no problem with that.

I did like that Pav was mixing it up, going to the body alot and well the uppercuts made it an early night.

Well, Smoger states in his pre-fight instructions to honor the bell. When I first saw it, I was at the event, I thought it was Espino throwing a "good round" slap, not a punch. I even thought that on the replay. Kelly's and Smoger's reaction say different though.
