Huki's generally only a fan of the finest fighters in the sport, Pavlik being a blue collar sloppy boxer doesn't appeal to fans who enjoy top precision and ability. It was a response to a sarcastic thread by CHJ, people's lack of perception here show why everyone rates Pavlik so highly to begin with.

why cant the guy just enjoy fighters for what they are - is there really a need to trash some guys just cuz they dont have the natural talent or skills that others have?

I clicked on this thread expecting a quote from JETSKI, then I find out I'm the delusional Pavlik fan.. It's always sad to see how many people on this forum have zero common sense and no ability to detect sarcasm whatsoever.

That makes a lot of sense.

BTW, I don't dislike Pavlik at all, I just hate the sickening HBO and general boxing media hype that goes on around him. I would say I'm a "fan" of his on some level, because I cheer for him when he's not fighting someone that I'm a bigger fan of and I think he's a very good, likable person. There are a lot of fighters I'm a fan of that are sloppy boxers (big fan of Mayorga/Arce and fan of fighters like Andrade, Miranda, Sam Peter before the Toney fights, etc).

I think that's closer to Amsterdam than me. He's the pompous European, only loving the supernatural fighters. I'm the pompous European loving the supernatural fighters, but also loving some of the much less-talented, pure heart brawling warriors on the lower level. I also love any fighters with crazy personalities, like Mayorga or Judah. It's probably the reason why I'm so attracted to Guzman/Gamboa as fighters. They have the supernatural talent with the crazy personalities and warrior mentalities.

People on here think posters like Amsterdam and I don't respect fighters like Margarito because we always put them down, but those people are way, way off.

 

That's funny, media hype on any fighter has never affected me if the fighter at least holds up to some of the hype. You might be a little jealous.

 

Quotes silly, but Joe can walk into a right hand from Hopkins, he can walk into a right hand from Pavlik.

Difference is he wouldn't get up.

 

Why would I be jealous? I'm happy for Pavlik, he deserves everything he's achieved, he just doesn't deserve the insane hype.

The way the HBO crew hypes him up as a "complete fighter" and gets excited every time he throws a jab is sickening.. especially when there are a ton of better fighters out there who get much less hype and earn much less money, but are likable ring warriors as well.
