This content is protected I thought the same thing when I first read it. It took me a second read to realize he was referring to my asking about jsimps. I want to clear that up now.
While I'm excited about the developing 168 tournament, Froch vs Pavlik would be a great fight as well. All these great fights being talked about, I suddenly feel revived on this whole boxing thing.
Word at Pavlik's camp is they are "unsure" which direction they will be going on October 3, but that sounds like the date he is tentatively scheduled to fight next. Would this bump an Andre from this tourney or would Froch dump it for the money a Pavlik fight would bring. HBO won't put up much for Pavlik/Sturm so if they are talking about Froch, I'd have to think HBO would be fully behind it if it WERE to happen. :think
Potentially it could go either way. If what we're being fed from Showtime and the news whores are correct, It sounds like Froch's fight is one of the first ones on the docket. That leads me to believe it's as close to 100% as possible. NOW Froch could bow out of the tournament for a Pavlik fight certainly...but Showtime would be wise to have an alternate in mind just in case that does happen. 168 is stacked with good/great fighters so even if Froch does pull out, they can throw someone else in and while the quality would suffer, it would be still be functioning.
at this point i don't care who pavlik fights. i just want to see him fight. I'll even be happy if he ends up fighting sergio mora.
I can't think of a better card within the last decade. That would be one **** hot double header!!! P.S. Don't care about Pavlik he had his chance to fight Abraham. US cash + EU cash and he was the dude avoiding the fight. I have no time for him.
If HBO is seriously being stingy and tough with the money, Might as well throw out some potential cheap opponents they might be willing to take on their network: Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright (yes him again), Roman Karmazin and Ricardo Mayorga.
The so called US cash and EU cash amounted to less than Pavlik made for Gary Lockett. That's an insult, not a serious offer.
