Glen Johnson was a full weight class below his best weight when he got the mixed decision against Froch. Last night Glen gave a good performance against an inexperienced fighter and lost what should have been a close decision either way or possibly a draw. Does this change any ones mind on a Pavlik/Froch dust up? Maybe closer than you first though? :think Just as I hit submit I realized I hadn't made this a public poll. Damned.
Johnson was able to hurt Froch to the body late he made it for a competitive fight the entire night. My thoughts are this, if Kelly keeps up with that tighter defense, and throws straight shots like has been down the middle he will beat Carl Froch
No what i'm saying it's that the three rules in boxing doesn't work. I don't judges a fight with a common opponents.
I believe Pavlik will step up if and when he fights Froch. He has trained hard for 3 fights in a row. After a short break and some news of a froch fight and Pavlik might surprise alot of doubters.
Bazooka has a theory that once Pavlik gets into a 'real fight' that his training and instincts will take over. What we are seeing now is a Pavlik intent on working on the things he has learned in training. We know that every Ellie Sechback vid we see Kelly is working on left hand combos. His left body shot is something that really is new. I hope Bazooka is right.
''No still Pavlik one sided'' :rofl:roflatsch Hermit still delusional :-( he'll be koed once he steps up his competition.
The thread premise is a bit silly. Pavlik needs to step up a full level and win before he starts thinking about Froch. I'd still like to see him in against Abraham.
Pavlik has shown in his comebacks a willingness to fight inside. If he did that with Froch he'd get pushed around. He'd have to stay outside using his jab and right hands, and thats not his MO anymore. Froch by mid rounds ko
Froch has one KO in his last 6 fights and Kelly has been in with big punchers before. Not seeing the Froch stoppage as likely outcome. Could happen but evidence doesn't suggest it. Kelly got stupid against Taylor yet still got up and recovered well enough to get the KO.
