At 6′ 2½ Kelly Pavlik is tall for 160. Emanuel Steward is in my opinion the best trainer for tall boxers.
Steward would be the best trainer for Pavlik.

Is Andrade available, and can he make that weight is what I wanna know? That's a fight guaranteed to make Kelly look good. Pirog - Pavlik on the other hand, is what I wanna see. He is a mover and it gives Kelly another shot at showing that he can deal with that.

Andrade has weighed in under 168 a few times, so I think he could probably make 165. As far as I know Librado doesn't have anything scheduled. Pac/Margarito and Pavlik/Andrade in Dallas, Texas seems like a natural.

Pavlik might be hindered by his cuts now, not to mention his lack of confidence. His eyes were torn to shreds by Martinez. For a guy with a good Chin who always eats a lot of punches, that could be disastrous for his career.

Steward would be the absolute worst possible choice.

"He's standard, overrated, all of that," Steward said.

Steward said that while Pavlik has been glorified for his win against Miranda, Taylor, despite some admittedly lackluster performances, has not gotten the credit he deserves for two fights and 24 tough rounds with the great Bernard Hopkins, a draw with "one of the most-avoided fighters," southpaw Winky Wright, and wins against two other quick southpaws, Kassim Ouma and Spinks, both among the best junior middleweights in the world.

Steward said Pavlik, a straight-ahead right-hander, would have an even tougher time with those opponents than Taylor did.

"Jermain beat those guys, three awkward southpaws in a row, and is still champion, and people are down on him," Steward said. "But Pavlik beat one fighter, Miranda, who was living off a loss to [Arthur] Abraham. That was his claim to fame. While Jermain was fighting and beating class A fighters, Kelly was fighting class B fighters. He took one risk with a fighter [Miranda] who was never all that anyway. I think Pavlik is overrated and in this fight, we can work on all the things that we could never do with those southpaws."

Very good choice. Steward is great with tall, rangy fighters. Richardson might make Pavlik fight better with a more cerebral approach, better footmovement, defense, and just better gameplans. He'd help him not be so predictable and one dimensional.

Steward would be the worst possible choice. If you are unaware of the history, you ought to remain quiet.
