I think Pavlik has everything you want in a potential superstar, he is young, great agressive fighting style, very humble personality, totally different to floyd mayweather and very much like oscar,if pavlik beats hopkins like I think he will, pavlik will become the "next oscar" on mainstream boxing. your thoughts........

    my thoughts.................Hopkins turns over Pavlik

Hopkins turns over everyone - except Joe Calzaghe who is truley exceptional..........and he nearly even turned over Joe

If Pavlik can beat or even knock Hopkins out that would send shockwaves through Boxing and really throw down a gauntlet to Joe Calzaghe

But I reckon Hopkins is going to school him,,,,,,,,,,beat him up,,,,,,,,,,,and stop him around the 9th round

i agree he is young he can bang he is soooo humble..what helps him is he stays to his roots and isnt leaving youngstown people love him just for him not even for fighting and when you throw in the fighting its just pure love for him..if he can do what he does he will be the next oscar for sure

Pavlik's best chance for commercial success is to bring the MMA crowd into boxing. He isn't going to capture the ethnic/female crowd that Oscar is able to. His affiliation with Affliction has worked well.

The one thing I worry about is that Pavlik's success isn't built for the long term. I see him getting KO'd at some point. But, he is exciting and fun to watch.

Kelly Pavlik will be a huge star if he KO's Hopkins, but he looks like a garbage man. The reason ODLH is so big is because he appeals to the women as well.

At first I want to laugh at this post.

Then I realize that we are talking about Hopkins and I remember that he can tool and beat the sh!t out of anyone.

Your Joe Calzaghe nut hugging is pretty bad though Flint.

Joe ain't that great and Pavlik will beat Hopkins worse than JC did. Thats what I expect anyways.

No he doesn't. No fighter will ever have the potential to be as popular as Oscar again, unless they can really branch out into non-boxing ventures. Oscar became a name from the Olympics and from boxing on free public television. Olympic boxing is now a joke that nobody watches, and it's been years since there's been a boxing match on network TV. Also, Oscar has always been in weight classes ripe with other big names, and he's gone out and fought them. Pavlik, not so much. Other than Calzaghe, there really aren't any other US big names (and calling Calzaghe a big name is a stretch as well) he could fight that he hasn't fought yet.

I don't think Pavlik has the charisma that Delahoya has. Honestly it's not just Delahoya's looks or personality or even skills per se, but he looks good boxing. Muhammad Ali had it, Sugar Ray leonard had it, Roy Jones had it and Oscar had it too. They just looked good doing what they do in the ring. Watch Michael Jordan play basketball, not only was he great but he was great to watch. It's a characteristic that I really can't put into words, but I guess you can throw it under "charisma" maybe an "in ring charisma"

Oscar was so big, I remember my jr high spanish teacher telling the class that she thinks he's hot.

Calzaghe would be a good marketable opponent.

Its probably a few years away, but, Margarito or Williams could be a big fight.

Abraham is a fight fan's fight, but, he is so unknown in the U.S. it wouldn't help.

I will take that bet I am a Hopkins fan but there is no way he will stop Pavlik. He does not throw enough punches. Pavliks workrate will be to high for Bhop.

A long time hater coming back to try and sound right, if Hopkins wins you will disappear only to return with more excuses, as usual.
