You are not running out of cheap crappy shots pulled out of your ass, no ? Winky Wright didn't want to fight for $1.5 millions which was all Sauerland had from ARDs budget. Abraham fights for less EVERY fight. Taylor wanted Abraham for free, just like Sturm who got offered peanuts for leaving his belt on the doorstep while Taylor wanted the cake, Sturms girl and his car plus options. Where was any offer or serious negotiation from Arum ? Yeah, right, I know, Pavlik is THE star of the entire universe so every other title holder has to drop his belt and go for the mandatory, of course fighting for free paying a bonus to Pavlik from his own bank account. Idiot.

If Gevor would hammer out a commanding win over Sturm knocking him into next week, you can bet your house that Arum would not even pick up the phone when he sees who is calling. Sturm is beatable since he has not only no chin, but gets KOed when the breeze of a punch touches him, every punch from Castillejo that connected floored him.

Yep! Catasyou made a very good point!

Golovkin was a big shot at the amateurs, won silver at the olympics, has signed a pro contract with one of the most powerful promoters out there, but ...........they dont put him into the ring with someone who can fight and has a reconisable name and a good reputation.
Golovkin should have fought someone like Jantuah and not Pirog.
Pirog has been matched extremely toughly up to now.Golovkin would have passed the same tests, too,if he had had chance to test the waters against those kind of foes Pirog beat.
Damn! Golovkin is scheduled to fight a Brasilian journeyman on the undercard of Sturm vs Gevor at Nurburg race tracks in front of a packed house. What a chance to showcase his skills and make some noise! Damn! And he is going to face a nobody from Brasil who lost every single round of his encounter with Golovkin's stable mate Zbik a couple of months ago.

As for Jacobs his fight record is not much better than Golovkin's one.

I am not sold on Pirog, he has a weird style that bases on timing, same as Pavliks. It's impossible to gauge his success, since you cannot say in advance if he can pick top fighters timing or not. Pavlik looked unbeatable with Miranda, and later in the fight with Taylor, he just had this "feel" of landing his comparably slow punches because he fires them at the exactly right time. He didn't outspeed Miranda like a Mayweather would, he kind of methodically boxed slow, but his punch still landed in the middle of Mirandas movement because he picked his timing so good. This is when I acknowledged his skill.
However, with Hopkins, he suffered the exact fate of his own victims, Hopkins picked HIS timing, while not allowing Pavlik to get behind Hopkins', so Hopkins did the landing while Pavlik landed on air. Thus, it's a hope Pavlik could find his approach working again with other top middles, but no forgone conclusion. Putting down the other fighters with crappy claims to make it appear "sure" is as low as it gets.

Well,Pirog has shown some pretty convincing performances within the last couple of months.
He has been matched very toughly, and has passed all tests successfully.
I for my part truly think that he would have beaten the hell out of Sturm last saturday.
Do you really think that Zbik or Spada -who fought a final eliminator to determine the mandatory for Pavlik's title- would be a match for Pirog? Pirog would have wiped the floor with both Zbik and Spada last saturday.

Odo, I would need to see more of Pirog, against someone I know. Like I said, Pirog is all about gauging distance and timing. I cannot say if his timing would be right on the mark with a jerk like Spada, or some orthodox like Zbik, or a guy capitalizing on nothing but speed like Sturm. You would have thought that Sylvester would have easily been able to beat that Sturm of last Saturday, but actually when they REALLY fought, Sylvester had no answer to Sturms speed.
