Pavlik: "Hopkins a legend and greatest middleweight"

bit of a love in alright, same with jones calzaghe!

call me old fashioned, but i love the hopkins who hated the world and wanted to destroy it......

 

Hopkins genuinely respects Pavlik, and most likely because he koed JT with whom hop is very bitter with. Plus he tried getting into Calzaghe's head and it obviously didn't work. B-Hop might actually be trying to make Kelly overconfident as he is a very crafty person inside and outside the ring.

 

Well Nard did say that JT was his heir apparent...so the man who bashed him surely deserves his respect.

 

does not surprise me i mean kelly grew up watching bhop do his thing at MW he prob has mad respect for him

and bhop knows kelly is going to be a good good mw so he respects that but im sure he will pull out some ol bhop tricks at the weigh in

I really like Pavlik, but it would be a tremendous feat if Hopkins beat him. And every poster here who's been falling over himself declaring Hopkins over the hill would have to come out of the ESB woodwork and eat crow, or declare Pavlik a hype-job (the more likely scenario).

 

This fight is just another fight to push Pavlik further ahead with the boxing public. It is real simple, Pavlik should win and yeah he will be a sloppy win becasue of Hopkins style but none the less Pavlik will prevail. After this fight Hopkins should without a question should hang up the gloves because he needs to clear way for more of the younger fighters.

 

I hope he knocks him out.

b hop respects him because he earned it. taylor earned nothing but hbo as his cheerleader that is the difference pavlik came up the way he did just faster.

 

taylor and wright showed nothing but respect for eachother and most thought it would be a snoozefest.

turns out it was a barnburner and had more than a few discussions going here eastside and i'm sure between fightfans at home as well.

 

I was a Hopkins fan while he was a middleweight, he was good, still is pretty good at the weight he is at, not really finished, but fighting all difficult fights in a row for big money. Hopkins is too greedy, he should retire. I always wanted to see him fight Roid Jones again, he would have beaten Jones in a rematch.
