Well, catchweight of 170. Loew said Pavlik's punches don't have the same snap. I don't think it will affect him too much though.

Ahh, Ive been gone a few days and noticed it was at LHW. But 170 shouldn't be too bad. I think Pavlik should win a clear but somewhat close UD over Hopkins.

As I said in another thread I worry for Hopkins in this one. I see him making Pavlik look bad and perhaps being the more impressive fighter in terms of quality output but the fact is the guy at 43 just cannot keep up, and with Pavlik's punch output I see him winning a decision based pretty much on his work-rate.

I mean if Calzaghe got a split based on his punch output and aggressiveness then I fail to see how the new American boxing hope won't get the nod if it goes to the card.

Exactly Hopkins showed his age in the Calzaghe fight and everyday that goes by for him I dont think is good for him. I see either what you said or Hopkins just not being able to compete on the same leve lanymore and Pavlik just being able to land almost at will. But you never know Hopkins can land a good counter and hurt Pavlik.

Pavilik should be ashamed he let his promoter put him in with a 43 yr old fighter. Bob Arum is full of so much sh*t. We have the middleweight Champion of the world moving up in weight to fight at a catch weight for no title. a shame

Pavlik and promoter wanted Calzaghe who blatently ducked him.

Oh god! If you think that is an excuse to move up as the middleweight champion to fight a 43 yr old fighter at a catch weight with no title on the line then you will excuse anything.:huh

I agree that the Abraham would of been the better fight of the two to make but I think they might try to lure Calzaghe by showing them how much Pavlik "dominated Hopkins way much more than Calzaghe"

He's freakin 43 yrs old. Calzaghe and pavilik should be ashamed of themselves. Moving up to fight a 43 yr old fighter. And for Joe another 40 yr old Jones? No no no! :-(

Joe is 36 himself and was moving up in weight as you say.

Hopkins is still a tremendous fighter.

Hopkins is on his way out but he got better with age. Pavlik wanted Calzaghe and as I said before I think they are trying to lure him out with the Hopkins fight.

As for Calzaghe he blatently ducked Pavlik and went for Jones who he said he didn't want to fight before cause its pointless.
