So since he's 43, You'd agree Hopkins has no shot against any other LtHW?

WTF?:patsch This man is 43 yrs old and we have our Middleweight Champion of the world moving up to face this 43 yr with no title on the line. And Joe C should be held over the fire also.

Age only counts when a fighter has shown that they are not the same fighter they were before. Hopkins although slowed a tad isn't exactly what we consider fighters as "old"

It almost came to Pavlik sitting out until AA became available. No HBO money for the top 'contenders' at MW and others, like Paul Williams, who claimed they WANTED a fight, well.......... didn't really when it came time to signing. They turned down this offer from Bhop early on but Bhop came back with it when he saw Pavlik wasn't getting any serious fight offers.

Pavlik has been looking for any opponent possible recently. Calzaghe turned down the offer, Abraham has a mandatory he has to fight with Pavlik coming next if he wins, Winky Wright turned down the offer and it went as far as considering Paul Williams till Hopkins took the offer.

So this fight will be at 170 . I know Hopkins will stay at 170 but does Kelly balloon over 170 or stay at the 170 limit.

Yeah, and if you think that Pavlik destroying Hopkins is gonna lure Slappy out then you really are :nut

There are very good reasons Joe C ducked that fight - and Pavlik not being good enough competition was not one of them :-(

The catchweight is @ 170lbs, no?

Why would Pavlik want to "balloon" over the weight limit? :huh

Yeah, me and you both bud. I know he hasn't always given the most action-packed of encounters in the past, but I for one have always been entertained by Hopkins, both inside and out of the ring.

And he surely is a defensive master, of that there can be no doubt :bbb

Hopkins was the LHW champ and rated highly P4P when he and Calzaghe fought. The age thing is an excuse. Archie Moore was a champ at an older age than Hopkins, + he had way more fights and had been ktfo by Marciano.
