Pavlik told Fox Sports he would be happy to take a rematch with BHop. He said, "If there's a chance of that happening, I'm there for it." Will it happen? http://www.searchforvideo.com/watchclip/?id=2848706
Don't think so. Same reason why there won't be a Hatton-Paulie rematch. Hopkins already dominated him so if he fought him he'd have absolutely nothing to gain. Plus, general fan interest won't be as high(of course fan interest isn't high for BHop RJJ, but Hopkins isn't as bitter at Pavlik).
Pavlik knows he wasnt himself in that fight. He was sick. It took alot off his punches and his movement. For him to even acknowledge a rematch with Hop is showing something.
Man, i really hate people who say this retarted **** atsch If you say no excuses, no damn excuses... Why even write it????
No excuses...BUT Pavlik gets schooled again. Another embarrassing, horrible one sided fight, that serves absolutely no purpose. I would bet on Hopkins winning every minute of every round this time.
He was schooled. End of story. The jump in weight didn't do him any favours but he was outsmarted and completely outboxed. Flu or no flu he was losing that fight. Suck it up Champ, you boy was made look completely average. A rematch would not interest me to be honest. Williams, Bute or any of the quality prospects in Middleweight (Pirog, Golovkin, N'Jikam) would be better to see imo.
Pavlik simply doesn't belong in the same ring with Hopkins. He got schooled. Take the education and move on with your career.
Here's some excerpts from Thomas Hauser's article: Pavlik-Hopkins; Boxing is a cruel teacher. This appeared on Seconds Out on Monday October 27th 2008.
pavlik gets whooped by b-hop 10 out of 10 times man. accept it, some fighters just have other fighters numbers.
Hopkins beats Pavlic now or 30 years from now during a weekend visit to the Philly senior citizen's home. I can see it now, Hopkins boxing Pavlic's ears off in the middle of the rec room while all staff and old folks stand around cheering.
You guys are beyond pathetic. First you criticize Pavlik for his recent level of competition, and then you turn a blind eye to the fact that he wants a rematch with the only guy who ever came close to beating him. Fact: Pavlik was in training for Williams, but Williams backed out, and KP ended up fighting Hopkins. Fact: Pavlik sustained an elbow injury that forced him to eliminate strength and weight training, and reduced his sparring to about 15 total rounds. Fact: Pavlik came down with bronchitis 4 days before the fight, and should have been home in his sick bed the night he fought BHop. Fact: Pavlik wants a rematch. Anyone who fails to give the man his props has the personal integrity of an alley cat.
