"WBO featherweight champion Steven Luevano (35-1-1, 15 KOs) will make his third title defense of 2008 against Billy Dib (21-0, 11 KOs). WBO #1 bantamweight Abner Mares (17-0, 10 KOs) will be risking his undefeated record and world rating against former world title challenger Luis Melendez (25-3-1, 20 KOs). In a WBC middleweight title elimination bout, Marco Antonio Rubio (42-4-1, 38 KOs) faces Enrique Ornelas (28-4, 18 KOs) with the winner becoming mandatory challenger to Kelly Pavlik." (fightnews . com) Looks like a good undercard.. Luevano is world class, but probably not elite even though he looked elite vs. Nicky Cook. Billy Dib is a top 20 featherweight with a padded record, but it still should be a test of sorts. Some people find Luevano boring though... Mares is a 22 year old undefeated prospect and it's always fun to get a first glance at up-and-comers. And Rubio or Ornelas will likely face Pavlik next, so that should be a competitive and meaningful bout.
Junk. And a waste of PPV $$$. I'd rather see a couple of bloody chick fights than the typical GBP crap that we all have to suffer through.
