I think we are more likely to see a version of the Cotto/Margarito fight than Bhop/Cal replay.

No way will Hopkins get knocked out. I see it ending up a split decision to Pavlova.

This going a ugly ugly weird fight and should not happen :-( Hopkins is gonna run clench and head butt all through the fight while ones in a while run in firing wild awkward shots. Pavlik will come with is jab throwing as many blows as he can between wrestling around with Hopkins. In the end Pavlik will wear down Hopkins and stop him late
In terms of clean action Pavlik vs Rubio is a much better fight:nono

Well, I do see Hopkins being upset after the fight. He usually is after a loss.:D

Bottom line is it is the fight we get. And every Calzaghe hugger is predicting defeat for Pavlik because Ole Joe just managed a split and it was Ole Joe's GREATEST WIN EVER!

It wasn't Joe's greatest win ever, factually incorrect.

And yes it pretty much makes sense that if Calzaghe looks bad against him Pavlik also will, since he is less experienced, less adaptable and generally lacking in most areas compared to Calzaghe.

Personally, I wouldn't say that either. It was tongue in cheek. At this point in time, I think Kessler holds the keys to Joe's legacy. We need to see what Kessler will do from here.

I fully expect it to be a tough fight for Pavlik mentally. Pavlik has to either advance along the learning curve, or look like ****. The trick would be to beat BHop and look good doing it. Not an easy task!

Pavlik is NOT a bigger version of Margo....Idiot

Pavlik has been rocked by Taylor.... And in reality Taylor should have finished Pavlik off.... How many times have you seen opponents land a good combo on Pavlik? I've not seen too many of his fights....but when Taylor landed that big punch combo on Pavlik....Pavlik was all over the place.... And if B-Hop sees an opening in Pavliks defences....I'm sure he'll land that big right a few times....Pavlik throws a lot of punches and is slow....means he is easier to counter than Calzaghe - who throws a lot of punches (or slaps if you want) but very fast.... I say Pavlik is going to get countered all night long....or as long as Hopkins has Gas in the tank

Calzaghe/Hopkins tells us almost nothing about how Pavlik/Hopkins will go down. Styles make fights. In terms of style it would be difficult to find two fighters who are more different than Pavlik and Calzaghe. Both guys rely a lot on work rate and stamina. The similarities pretty much end right there.

There is a huge hole in your counter punching theory. In order to counter punch effectively your opponent must be within range of your arm length. Pavlik has a significant arm length advantage over BHop. He does not have to get into Hopkins' range in order to land. Joe did not have that advantage. Pavlik does not rush in with his head down swinging wide slaps. Calzaghe does that in practically every round against nearly every opponent. That's why BHop put him on his ass, and won the first 3 rounds.
