Wait...so when Pavlik is easily beaten by Hopkins he claims that he was on death's door (no one bothered to cancel the fight in spite of this...), but now that this fight has been postponed, he claims that he's fine and could've fought. Top Rank probably cancelled the fight for fear of being bored to death by Pavlik's excuses should another embarassing performance ensue.
Here are my infos, c+p from another thread: Ok, got some news from the basement of AA's camp: They are still in negotiations with Main Events for a fight vs. Lorenzo on June 27. If it falls trough, they have a plan B aka IBF middleweight top15 fighter which they aren't telling anyone at the moment (understandably). Sauerland is STILL waiting on Pavlik to let his hand "heal". If he fights Mora in August/September, they would give it another 1 or 2 months in addition to the proposed date in early November. If it gets pushed way more back than that, they are not seeing the point for AA to stay at 160 and let him move up by early 2009. In the case of negotiations with Top Rank to fall trough and Pavlik fighting Mora at a later date (like I said above), Abraham will have his mandatory defense vs Lorenzo around September.
This is so bizarre. It seems to me that the Mora fight is not going to happen - which would be a blessing. Please make Pavlik/Abraham happen!!!
