If that's true, then I guess Winky found himself a new tune-up fight.

Don't be surprised if it is put off until late summer or early fall. Arum rightly believes that Pavlik/Abraham should be a BOXING EVENT rather than just a great fight the hard core fans want to see. Top Rank and Sauerland have already opened negotiations. I think they are looking to put AA and KP on the same show against decent opponents before they fight each other. These thing deserve a huge build up.

In addition, Pavlik has wanted to "smack Winky around the ring" for a very long time. There is a long history there that I am not going to recite right now.

    how's he being over rated?
the majority isn't claiming that he will beat winky
the majority isn't claiming that he will be pavlik

the only thing the majority will agree on is that paul williams is healthy for boxing.... yeah winky might be better than paul but maybe its paul's turn to make his name in the boxing world.... no matter what anyone says its a competitive match up...

and yeah he lost in a shitty way but maybe he needed to take that loss... pw doesnt take anythign away from quintana.... but pw was horrible that night and anyone with 2 eyes can see that he just wasnt focused... just like margarito took his loss with pw.. it changes your preperation, respect for all opponents and focus level and that paul williams we saw on that night with quintana we may never see again

    And To Be Honest.... Rumsfeld...

as much as we can say Winky Has Beat Way better comp then paul...
winky has never faced anyone like paul..

the best opponents on winky's resume'

    bhop-jt-quartay-trinidad-shane

    he lost to bhop...
he tied with jermain taylor who fights similar to paul williams
beat a quartay who barely beat verno phillips
dispatched of tito who was undersized
and shot a good one with shane....

williams is southpaw version of jermain taylor....

This is an extremely interesting Matchup

Focus on winning this fight first KP, then unify, then look around for other fights

Pavlik would beat Williams but Winky if he is 80% of before he should beat both.

Your comments, and people that actually agree with you, over rate him. This ain't no Carlos Quintana, or Verno Phillips, or even Antonio Margarito we're talking about here. This is Winky f-ing Wright. The same Winky Wright that beat Shane Mosely twice, the same Winky that shutout Felix Trinidad, the same Winky that most people believe beat Jermain Taylor, and the same Winky that gave Bernard Hopkins a much more competitive fight at a comparable catchweight than Kelly Pavlik did. The same Winky that was #2 P4P fighting at 160 up until that fight and who's now been resting for a year and a half. Even if he is able to somehow pull off the monumental upset, the idea that Paul Williams should be favored or even stands a chance against him should be banned. The only thing I see here, if this fight indeed does happen, is Winky landing a tune-up that pays a bit better than fighting some no-name on FNF.

Does this mean that Pavlik is officially ducking AA?

haha im just saying they are comparable in their physical gifts.... i did go a little over board with that comment..

what comments are you talking about that people are agreeing to?

at the end of the day winky has never stepped inside the ring with someone like paul williams on top of the fact that paul is south paw... winky hasnt seen a south paw (like paul in atleast 10 fights .. yes i checked) Paul is hungry and ready to leave his mark in this game... winky is old (washed up ? we dont know yet only time will tell us that ) but this might be a passing of the torch type of deal.... or maybe it will be a scholing at the hands of winky but to say people who think paul has a chance should be banned is just silly..... just based on paul's phsical abilities he should be taken serious....

you think winky is taking the same approach in preparing for paul as you making it seem like winky will some how shut out pw ?

It means his opponents have gone from MW-SMW-LHW down to LMW-WW

Playing it more safe which is wise but Williams and Wright are boxers whereas Pavlik is a puncher

I hope Williams gets to fight Pavlik. Winky hasn't fought in a year and a half and if Williams can look about the same from 147-160 I think he could pull it off. If Winky hasn't slipped he'll be a worse matchup for Pavlik. Not to mention a ugly fight.

Which southpaws has Pavlik faced so far?

It's also the same Winky that beat a prime McKart X 3, and in those days Bronco was a rough ****ing night for anybody at 154.
