    I hate to tell you this, but Williams is about as unknown to casuals as AA is. Williams is still completely unknown. It takes more then a couple good TV showings to gain a big following. Hell, Shane was still an unknown even after he beat DLH.

    Doesn't matter where the guys from. Unknown is unknown whether he's from the US or Antarctica. The only real way Williams vs. Pavlik is bigger them Pavlik. vs. Abraham is if Williams can sell. As of now, he's looking to become that guy. But he's not. Very few boxers really sell fights well.

    how come williams got consideration to fight pavlik before aa did then?

    and how come B level European fighters get little to no attention?

    Abraham was busy doing his thing. He had a defense against Marquez remember. Why would they discuss a fight w/ a guy who's busy at the moment? (sound familiar? :D)

    AA is hardly B level. :nono

    But the answer to that is because those successful Euro fighters already have their gravy train at home I wouldn't expect them to get any more attention then Williams does in Germany.

    First of all, I'll just say the A, B rating people give fighters here are total bull****.

    Why isn't he? He's beaten several top rated MW's like Eastmen, Ikeke, Miranda x2.

    If you don't think he is, why not? If not AA, then who @ 160?

    I cant Say he's an A level fighter.... in my eyes he's B....

    he's on the verge and beating pav would make him an "A-" level..

    when I grade you as I dont take your division into consideration.. like who's above you and stuff means nothing ... that would be a rating...

    when grading im talking all time middle weights into consideration and all that stuff....

    pavlik is teetering Between B+ & A- rating..... the jermain taylor w's were huge

    Williams couldnt stop Verno Phillips at 154 so what makes you think he could stop Winky Wright at 160? Wright has better defense, better chin and a higher natural weight then Phillips and I haven't been convinced that Williams power has carried up yet. If Winky is 75% of what he was before this layoff then there is absolutely no way that Williams stops him by ko or tko.

    to be fair they stopped the fight before verno could get stopped.... verno was starting to slow down at a scary rate.... in 1 or 2 roudns he woudl have been down for the count

    I will give you that. I did get the feeling that he could go in the next round. Definitely an accumulation of punches from Paul moreso than just power.

    B... if it was on a 1-100 scale he would be like an 85... and if the fighters continue to win and win big their grades can change..

    pw=85
    aa= 86
    kp=88
    cotto=91
    margarito=87
    shane=91
    paqman=98
    floyd=100
    calzaghe=96
    bhop=95

    something like that

    yeah it was more from accumulation... there was never any major punches that made it seem like he was going down from .... just a lot of punishment to the body

    How long have you been following boxing? How much do you know about how the business side of boxing works? How much time do you spend reading and keeping up with the news? These are serious questions.

    No one is ducking anyone. Sauerland and Top Rank have already opened negotiations. Pavlik wants the fight. Arthur wants the fight. Both have adamantly declared that they will not leave the division without trying to unify. A unification fight between the two best middleweights in the world deserves a big build up. It deserves to be AN EVENT rather than just a good fight that hardcore fans want to see.

    The plan is, and always has been, to bring Arthur to the states, and put him and Kelly on the same card against opponents that make them both look like monsters. I would not be surprised to see AA on the undercard of Pavlik vs the winner of Williams/Wright (Winky.)

    It's a simple equation really. Do you want Arthur to make a multi million dollar pay day, or $500K? That's the difference between promoting the fight the right way, and screwing the pooch on it.
