LOL. At 26 years old Pavlik still doesn't realize that styles make fights. He shoulda just draped his towel over his head and had a good cry in the locker room. Sometimes you just got let one out or you wind up soundin' like a snifflin' ***** when you're tryin' to pretend you're not emotional.
I will give him some time he probably does not realize it because this interview happened right after a loss (one of the worst times I think you can interview a fighter in my opinion). Pavlik was not only at the top but he done so in such a fast and unstoppable fashion that you feel unbeatable, then when you lose one and realize your not so unstoppable and it becomes hard to explain what happened. I think a better time to interview him will be a good month after the fight. Beating jermaine taylor twice and taylor beating hopkins twice is styles, kelly styles makes fights bruh.
I agree after such a fight your emotion our pouring out you and your hurting on the inside. it's not a good time to be answering question any type of question
Just like in the fight, when he looked to Loew for help, he had nothing. I hope he dumps him & gets a real trainer that might actually be able to help him out.
Agreed and great post. It is compelling to hear such interviews as a fan, though. You can just see the shock on his face.
Give him a break. He had his heart ripped out last night. Interviewing him right after the fight, he's not thinking clearly. He showed no disrespect to Hopkins. He's pissed at himself for not being able to do his thing. Lets give it some time. He'll bounce back, hopefully learn something from a bad experience. Maybe it will make him a better fighter than he was before. KP still rules at Middlewt. Abraham will be either his redemption or his exit ticket.
He hadn't seen the footage yet I assume. I do agree he's somewhat limited, just wanted to point out that the man in the ring doesn't see what we do on TV.
Think Pav was shell shocked. No big deal what he said, jus like no deal what Bhops said. Very emotional event and outcome, can take time to adjust. As an example, have any of you gotten unexpected bad news from a doc. How many react cool, calm, analytical etc. at that time.
