he is quick to jump back to 160 to fight chavez jr... what happened to all that " I want a rematch with martinez talk" http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5180805 "It will be nice to train for the fight instead of battling the weight the last couple of weeks of camp. For this last fight, we hit a wall and it was hard to budge," Loew explained. "It was horrible what we had to do to make the weight, sweating it off. It was really hard to get off. We had to get on the treadmill and then get in the sauna. We had to do that repeatedly." "We were 110 percent ready for Martinez and we really thought the weight would come down easier," Loew said. "We were battling the weight and it cost us. We kept food in him, but not much. There is no reason to go through that anymore." "I think Chad Dawson and Kelly Pavlik would be a very interesting fight. Chad is a great kid and fighter," Loew said. "I think that would be a great fight for him and Kelly. Maybe we'll be sitting ringside for Pascal-Dawson." http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=224967
If the Chavez Jr. fight is for real, then Bob Arum has most likely heavily influenced that possibility with serious dollars offered for it. It seems at this point, that Pavlik favors immediate big paydays over anything else, so....
hold ur horses , i honestly think that chavez has a good shot , and with roach in his corner , ill be honest i dont like roach at all but the truth is he makes fighters better . compare jack lowe to roach ,cosider who will have an effective game plan and who will double the jab.
so he's a coward.... he was begging for the martinez rematch but his body wouldn't allow him under 168... so fine... fight someone at 168.... but he goes back to 160 to the easiest fight possible... no martinez rematch.. no paul williams... no winky... no sturm... *****!
If he does stay at 160, then opting for a fight with Chavez Jr. instead of Martinez is indeed very cowardly. As a Pavlik fan, even I cannot defend that.
its *****... I wouldn't even be mad if he came back to fight pw.... then he could atleast say he beat the guy who beat the guy and he wants his vengence.. he's taking the ***** way out... dude sucks ****
As somebody who doesn't have anything against Kelly, I'm going to say Jack Loew is full of ****. Pav vs Dawson will NEVER happen and he knows it. Loew says it would be an interesting fight, while they're signed on to fight a relatively green 154lber in Chavez Jr. Bringing up Dawson's name is nothing but PR bull****. Skip 168 and a Sergio rematch to fight Dawson? Yeah, whatever. Pavlik is fighting Chavez Jr next. Enough said on that. Pav's camp used the weight excuse against the BHop fight. The truth is, Pav came to the ring at 174, BHop came to the ring at 180. Big ****in difference there. When people wised up to that, then they went for the sick excuse. No excuses woulda been made if BHop had showed up old and lost. BHop whipped Kelly's ass from bell to bell. Pav's camp used the weight excuse again, the OPPOSITE WAY for the Sergio Martinez handling he got. When Pav had adjusted to Maravilla in the mid rounds, things were looking just fine. It was Martinez who TOOK his belts from Rd 9 onward. But nah, that musta been because he was "fighting with the weight" lol. :smoke Maravilla opened up those cuts on Pav because he's so damn easy to hit. The cutman was also incompetent, which is what they really should be trying to fix. Loew needs to be put aside in favor of someone who can teach Pav how to fix his flaws. The excuses have run out. Enough is enough. KP is a good guy and had a great run up until the JT rematch. It's time for his camp to get sorted out. The Chavez Jr fight won't prove jack. I hope Pav gets good money from it because it will do nothing for his rep or career.
Nino Benvenuti lost to Emile Griffith, and then fought 31-20-4 Charlie Austin. After that he got the championship back. Hopkins lost to Taylor, and than lost the immediate rematch. Taylor lost to Pavlik, and then lost the immediate rematch. Do the ****ing Math.
Off topic...I was reading that little book thingy they have for the Pavlik-Martinez fight on boxrec and one of the comments stated that Team Martinez acknowledged this was the first middleweight title win for an Argentinian since Monzon. Thats a bit of a slap in the face for Corro, Castro and Velazco dont you think? And thats just off the top of my head, there could be another 1 or 2 titlists from Argentina that picked up a trinket in that time.
pavlik is doin fine. so he lost to martinez. he will work himself back. arums making the fight . not him
poor, poor kelly. man done made out to be the next bst thing since jeff lacy. **** i may even post a reply by me a yr ago that said then that the man was very limited. lol the great hope, great dope more like. you guys got blinkerd vision
