I talked to Pav's Conditioning Trainer for a few mins last night on the phone! I asked him, do you still have a job? He said " As far as i know " He also said, "But I knew Kelly was gonna move at least for Training"
Well that's if it's the smaller mans camp. Of course it benefits the smaller guy but what does it do to prepare the bigger man? Pavlik should therefore be sparring lightheavys and cruisers not light middles for **** sake
You spar smaller men who are more athletic/mobile/quick/etc. Generally the bigger guy will pull his punches if he throws them at all. Sometimes it is just a defensive drill.
ok bad examples... wlad used to spar andy lee for preparations and both vitali and wlad have been using ola afolabi a lot. calzaghe used to spar gavin reese...
Well its about 3 years too late, but he is still fairly young. On Froch, that would be muscle vs muscle and they both have iron jaws. Just Froch is very unpredictable with his slow ass punches while Kelly has always been very one dimensional and predictable. Unless Garcia can develop his left hook alot and get him to mix it up alot more, he would certainly lose that fight.
I don't get the talk about Pavlik's left hook. I think KP was right when he said a lot of his critics don't know the difference between a left hook and a fishing hook! During Pav's last fight I was shocked by Bernstien's bull**** about Pavlik developing a new weapon.atsch The truth is Pavlik can hook off the jab, roll left hooks into uppercuts, roll uppercuts into hooks, Hook to the head, hook to the body, turn a jab into a hook at the last possible instant, throw a hell of a 3-2, double hook, and triple hook. He's had numerous fights where he put on a freaking clinic on how to use a left hook.
