People are discrediting Hopkins victory with saying Pav is to small for a catchweight at 170???? The Guys over 6'2,taller then Bernard.with the same reach. On top of that he has a wide frame, don't see his size as an issue here.If he wanted to take the fight thats his choice. He lost because he just isnt as good as hopkins. Kelly is better at middleweight but dont go an say that he was too small. Not much weight in that argument

If you get your ass outjabbed and outboxed from distance for 12 rounds you can't complain about weight. Hopkins wasn't even as physical as expected.

Very weak people using that arguement, as Pavlik has fought close to that weight several times before.

He does have a pretty skinny frame..Its debatable who is the bigger man naturally, it certainly isnt any excuse for this fight though, he was just schooled by the better fighter.

I have said this 100 times Kelly Pavlik wasnt exposed all of a sudden against Hopkins. He is a flawed fighter, thats why we like watching him and it has shown in just about every fight he has had on film since coming up.

    Agreed.

Pavlik is a huge middleweight he just got exposed for the B level fighter that he is.

If he stays at 160 though I can't see him losing he's just too big and strong at the weight.

Size , schmize. Kelly just got a lesson from a professor, thats all. He's no B-level fighter either. He's still world class, and any middleweight will have hells own time beating him. So he lost to Hopkins, big deal. Hopkins lost his first pro fight, look how much he improved.

Hopkins fought and beat a sick man who was fighting two classes above is best weight those are the facts:bart Pavlik would beat the Jail Byrd if fought at 160 and Kelly was healthy:nono

Not so much the weight as just being a completley inferior fighter to Hopkins in evry way possible. Including handspeed.

Agreed, I'm a fan of both as but wow, that was a world class schooling. Hopkins is truly an ATG and one of the smartest fighters of my generation.

    Size matters.

Look at Paul Williams. He is a genetic freak and can easily destroy guys 6 inch shorter at 147. Fighting at 160 or so will take away that advantage he has.

Some people just cannot adjust to the weight change that well. Look at Hatton at 147. Look at DLH at 160. They belong in their respective weight divisions.
