I've read this twice now. I just don't see what most are seeing. Pipe hit it on the head. This article is not full of quotes but the writers summary. I posted yesterday a link to an article and pointed out the local rag seemed to be going negative on him for some reason. Perhaps he needs to give an interview so we can better gage what his feelings are? But let's face it. He is probably set for life now. He just needs a couple more paydays to make it a nicer retirement.
I don't tell you how to live your life..:bart Semantics ASS too, my friend. MW, thanks to MR. Bernard Hopkins had ONE true linear and all that CHAMP. JT beat him. Simple as that. AA has not ever beat JT at MW while he was still THE Champ. I do know your point though, and in most divisions most of the time, your right...who gives a **** about this belt and that belt, even linear. BUT NOT THIS TIME, Mr. Hopkins had the whole **** cleaned up.:deal
99.9% of the jokers on here are making a lot of assumptions about KP when they have no clue. KP has been one of the active fighters in recent history and he has done nothing but fight his way to the top knocking out everyone along the way. Then he was very active fighting his mandatories. He had no choice in lockett or rubio or he would lose his belts. Then he moves up and fights bhop at lhw only after exhausting all available opponents. Thank Goosen for no PW fight. Kelly WAS training for him. Then, surprisingly, the bhop fight made. I sat back and haven't responded to a lot posts questioning Kelly's credibility. There are too many bandwagon jumpers on here, who have no clue.
Sorry bro -- I am just really tired of the "I'm a fan but . . . ." statements people make on here about 100 times per day. And many of those posters use Duddy and Mora to critisize. So, let's critisize him for fight he did not fight, and does not wantatsch Any way, he has an October 3rd date, but no opponent. This is the exact same position he was in at this time last year. Did he end up fighting a cup cake? Hell no, so I don't even know why people go there expect as a way to trash KP.
Ah, the classic "Unless you can KO Tyson in 10 seconds, you can't criticise anyone" argument. The sign of having no arguments to defend one's favourite boxer.
Let's be completely honest. If Arthur Abraham had been the one with the "lineal right" as Champion, the majority of us wouldn't even acknowledge it. Instead we'd sweep it under the rug and go about our business. Listen both are champions. Simple as that. Pavlik has the MUCH better resume BEFORE his title win. SINCE they become became title holders, we've had some awful MW opposition thrown towards them. If the entire point of the argument is to pick apart what each champion has done/did/will do we'd be stupid because both guys have an insanely shaky resume and we'll be bickering about two bowls of **** all night. Ultimately we're drifting towards semantics and that's where nobody wins.
The Rubio fight was in Feb...these comments are fresh and new. Arum isn't the only guy who can hold a grudge dude. All I'm saying is, Kelly is REALLY at the best point in his career to take a Miguel Cotto-style media approach. He'll fight who Arum tells him to fight, he'd love to fight -such and such- in -such and such- but it's his manager's decision. As per the "How can I tell he's frustrated" sort of question, just the way he's been treating the media lately with some of his snippets. It's been happening since the Hopkins fight when he kind of made some comments that were difficult to explain (stuff such as Hopkins not being all that crafty etc). It just seems like he's a little bit frustrated. He has a right to be...I just worry about his mental state a bit because he seems very UN-Pavlik like.
I do not think that pointing out that KP is the man, who beat the man, who beat the man, but AA has never even been in the ring with a world champion, is a simple matter of semantics.
Arriba, please PLEASE, for the love of all ****ing things sacred tell me you are SHITTING me here!!!!:shock::roll: Sooo, what you are saying, one guy (Jermain Taylor) beat THE CHAMP (yes in this case there was ONLY ONE!), the other (AA) gets to fight another NON-CHAMP in a fight for a VACANT title that Jermain HAD to drop, BUT you're tellin' me they are ****in' equal???????
