A taller, rangier, one punch knockout artist, who's a natural lefty which makes for a hurtful jab, with boxing ability, that throws 80 punches a round, and has a devestating body attack is MADE for Taylor. Who wouldn't want to fight this guy?
Good post - Taylor and Stewart keep saying Pavlik is tailor made for him compared to the other guys he's faced recently, but he's going to have a hard time with a guy like Pavlik for all the reasons you listed.
Pavlick has this aura of a verry verry game and mentally strong fighter. Taylor hasnt. Pavlick would be a great champion and would shortly have much fans. The man is just awesome. Just a FIGHTER. Taylor doesnt has this fighter mentality compared to Pavlick.
I think its gonna be a really good fight tonight and wouldn't be shocked if they had a rematch. I think Palvik is going to back up Taylor. If a light hitting Ouma can back up Taylor I think Palvik can back him up too. I think its gonna be a good fight but Im picking Palvik KO in 10.
Has Taylor ever fought in a situation where he didn't have a height or reach advantage? According to stats, Bernard Hopkins is 6'1 with a 75" reach, while Taylor is 6'1" with a 74" reach. Taylor fights tall, sometimes moves foward with punches, other times he uses a type of defensive jab and grab style where he backpedals and ties his opponents up. Pavlik is comming in at 6'2.5 with a 75" reach. Pavlik fights tall, has a good workrate and boasts very good power. Taylor looks best when he works off the jab.. This fight should be determined by who can establish the jab and work off of it. Not sure either fighter has fought anyone taller than themselves.. Makes for a great matchup.
