yeah, he's the white american hope. cause this is the early 1900's. man, you hear about this crazy new thing, radio? what's that about man? sound, through the air? sounds like witchcraft to me.

You're kidding yourself if you think being white doesn't matter in helping Pavlik's popularity. Of course, if he wasn't an exciting powerpuncher, it wouldn't matter as much either. But skin complexion IS a factor in boxing, particularly in the HW division. Just look at Mesi - an ordinary fighter like that wouldn't get half the hype he does if he wasn't white.

oh no, you're absolutely right ayatollah of boxing. that's why that young upstart floyd mayweather can't get fights, cause he's not white.

Philly-I think he's trying to say it's alright for Floyd to be boring because he's black..If he were white he would've been beaten with rubber hoses after he ran from Baldomir for 12 rounds but he's black, has a **** poor thugish attitude, has a personallity so unique he has to pay people to hang out with him, he's just the type of boxer HBO wants to get rich off of. Cheers:good

you know what bores me the most: skill. nothing quite as boring as seeing the pound for pound best in the sport practice his craft. yessiree, nothing as boring as floyd mayweather. except maybe that winky wright. some people say that he is a "defensive master" but they're obviously idiots, a real "defensive master" would stand and trade and knockout all of his opponents and breathe fire and drive a rollercoaster to work.

I like Pavlic but it I think people overrates him like he is a force of nature and unstoppable. He is not a scary fighter and has a big chance to lose in his rematch with Taylor.

I'm glad you understand..Because Floyd actually fought in the Hatton fight this is not the case even 50% of the time..It's a historical universal that an "offensive master" will more than likely be more exciting than watching a "defensive master"...Theirs a fine line between a defensive master like Floyd actually giving a fight and doing nothing at all...As attentive as you may be I'm sure you don't watch PBF-Baldomir whenever you have a chance..Why because it's ****ing boring...Ever see a boring fight from Cotto, Margarito, Tyson, Pavlik, Miranda, Mosley, Diaconu?? No of course you havent..with your affinity for boring fighters I doubt you care..all to sad really:-(

Pavlik is the best MW out there, true he looks awkward but after what he did to Miranda and Taylor you cant question his abilities.

How the hell is Taylor not 'elite'!?

He beat Bhop twice, drew with Winky, beat Ouma & Spinks all in a row before his only professional loss! It doesn't matter whether the fights were controversial or not, they were all close (with the exception of Ouma) fights with 'elite' and top tier fighters.

Wake up mate. Taylor is an 'elite' fighter, he was just beaten by the better man on the night. Stop trying to bring Pavlik down, it was a hell of a fight!

wow, an articulate point backed up by the awesome power an emoticon. man, do i feel stupid. you're right, floyd is boring. obviously it's more important for a fight to excite the mma knockout loving fanboys than it is to have good boxing skill. only one as well spoken as yourself could have put it so succintly. kudos.

I wish people would wake the **** up, do a bit of research, and get over this BS about Pavlik's chin! If an occassional knock down ment that a fighter had a poor chin then that would mean that Danny Lopez, Bobby Chacon, Alexis Arguello, Aaron Pryor, Ray Robinson, Marvin Haglar, and Rocky Marciano, among many-many others all had china chins!! Anyone who believes that belongs on the short bus with a hockey helmet and a drool bib!

Pavlik's last six opponents had a combined 163 fights with 116 knock outs. Among them they have laid claim to 2 NABF titles, 1 IBA title, 2 WBO titles, 1 IBF title, and 1 WBC title. One is now campiagning at 168 with some success, and 1 is coming up on an elimator to decide Abrahams next mandatory. Five had never been stopped before meeting Pavlik. In addition, the last guy who went the distance with Kelly never fought again.

Pavlik has fought as high as 175, and he has fought above 160 a total of 12 times. All those fights ended in brutal knock outs; most in under 3 rounds.

Pavlik's chin is just ****ing fine, so get over the bull****!
