Why EXACTLY is he going to lose to Taylor? And for those that think Pavlik can't box: you don't get to his level with NO boxing skills. He was an excellent amatuer boxer and I will even go as far as to say that he is a very underrated "boxer". Now don't go off the deep end with that comment, im not saying that he is "A" level or anything, but this thread just shows how little credit (or NO credit) people give to Pavliks boxing skills

Never really said KP had a iron chin.

    What I said was...

"Just cause he's been dropped a few times doesn't actually mean he doesn't have a good chin."

And with that good chin, he gets up & punishes people.

What makes you think he wouldn't catch southpaw Joe with a lefty's worst nightmare, a straight right hand, of which KP has one of the best in the business?

Is it because he comes from your side of the pond that your so biased for Calzaghe?

Kelly hammers that slapping fool. One things for certain, JC ain't KO'ing KP, not in a million years.

Pavlik is far from a kamakazi fighter. He has great composure in the ring and (outside of one obvious exception) doesn't take stupid chances.

I don't know if Pavlik is a longterm champion, will have to wait and see, but I am sure he will defeat Taylor in the next fight. Everything is in his favor as it stands. Taylor should've had a tune up fight rather then immediately fight Pavlik again. Who knows how he will be out there? Some fighters are never the same after their first loss.

I don't think him going back to his very first trainer will have any impact whatsoever. He was with Steward and he's considered to be one of the best one's out there. I realize that is no guarentee and a fighter may not have great chemistry with one of the "best" trainers (as the J.T. & E.S. relationship showed) but I thought if anything he would get back together with Dan Birmingham. Regardless of trainers though, I think he is going to go down again.

How can you say Kelly has a bad chin? Yeah Taylor HURT hit him with one punch, then he proceeded to land several HUGE rights hands, THEN Pavlik went down.

I agree. He got his bell rung, but regained his composure and by the next round he was fine.

In his fight against against Edison Miranda, Pavlik and Miranda traded some pretty huge shots throughout the fight, especially early on and Pavlik held his own. Pavlik probably doesn't have the BEST chin, but he definately has a good chin.

Also I don't see how you can say Kelly throws haymakers. Kelly throws very straight punches with pretty good technique. This is why he does so well against fighters that throw such wide punches.

Pavlik is an exciting fighter, thats why he is rated so highly by many. He trucks people, its almost guarenteed. 32 wins, 29 by knockout.

I agree with the guy that said someone is going to come along and outbox pavlik, but it isnt going to be taylor. Pavlik took JT's best shots and still KO'd him. Anyone who picks Taylor in this rematch, I really need an explination. Taylor doesnt move well. He is going to stand in there and slug with a guy who has a better punch and reach and he is going to get rocked just like last time. Look for almost a replay of Taylor-Pavlik1. I dont see how taylor could win this unless he comes out a completely different fighter.

Someone is probably going to post the video of Emanuel Steward telling Taylor to do x while Taylor went back in there and did y instead hahaha

It's a wonder he has accomplished as much as he has with such a low boxing IQ for a champion fighter. He and Steward really had a rough time together.

This is what I'm talking about. What you see is what you get. With Kelly, too. Only with KP, you got big problems on your hands.

Thats why I like him so much.:good

I believe he is very overrated. He is a good fighter none the less but maybe its the whole being the white american hope? He is pretty good technically i would say. Has one hell of a punch. Defense is a little below average. His 3 wins this year i say are definately overrated though. Zertuche is a nobody his record is like 19-3 or something. Miranda... come on the guy is a less succesful Mayorga. Those guys always get beat by good guys with basic fundamentals. Taylor i will give him credit for since he fought a good fight although i believe it Taylor tightens up his defense he could maybe beat him. And hell no he will never dominate the 168 lb division.
He could become an ATG yet since he is not in his prime yet but right now to me he is just an ordinary fighter. Very exciting though one of my favorites to watch.
