I don't know if it's a rule but it's generally accepted that one's corner knows best and we all know what "throwing in the towel" signifies. Interference on behalf of one's corner does net one a loss, though. I guess one could consider that interference.

 

so basically you base your p4p lists on who you think can beat who, rather than fights which have actually happened?

 

actually a p4p list should always be about who you think are the best fighters, not solely based on BoxRec.
