Saurland made a statement and so did AA. Don't doubt Pavlik himself would have taken the challenge but you just know Arum is not interested. Show me an article from a reliable source that said he was!

 

Show me an article that answers ANY of the following questions:

How much did AA offer Pav to fight in Germany?

How much did AA ask for to fight in AC?

What was the proposed fight date?

How much did HBO, or any other network, offer for the fight?

What was the proposed split on the live gate?

The answers to those questions do not exist because Abraham never entered into serious negotiations with Pavlik. He called out DeLahoya instead.

 

and a loss on aa's record would have thrown a big wrench into sauerland's plans to have him fight in the super 6. even aa's biggest fans have to admit pav has a chance against aa. so i ask again, what good would a loss at mw do for aa/sauerland as it relates to getting him into the smw tourney??

Now I'm not saying Kelly Pavlik has no chance against Abraham - in fact I'd say it's almost 50/50 but the problem is Arum does not like to take any risks unless it's 2 of his own fighters. Think about it - Arum said He would put manny in against Valero - who is Valero promoted by - you guessed it Bob Arum - who gets all the money - you guessed it Bob Arum. Now Manny is fighting Cotto for the moment. Now who is Cotto promoted by - you guessed it Bob Arum - now think about it how many times do you hear bob arum talk about manny fighting a non top rank based fighter. only in a super fight with Mayweather where Arum knows the PPV numbers would be so big that he could afford to cash in on Manny. Now since Pavlik has won the belts look who he has defended them against - Lockett? Rubio? now Arum is talking about Duddy or chazez jr? Pavlik is supposed to be in the fight of his life against a guy who has had to jump up 2 weight divisions! and your guys allready think its gonna be a ko for pavlik right? Now look at Pavliks only non title defense - he picked Bernard Hopkins - why - because they though it would be easy pickings. Now tell me what risks does Arum take! so you gonna call me silly cuase i don't agree with you? go ahead. But ask your self is Kelly pavlik fighting the best in the division? Is arum taking chances? Again its not Kelly Pavliks fault he can only box who is in front of him! Heck I even heard him call out Abraham but Arum will not allow it. Same reason Arum wont let Lopez fight Caballero - why because its a risk. But surprise surprise he will build up a super fight with Gamboa instead because ARUM PROMOTES GAMBOA ALSO! So either way he gets the money. Come on guys do the maths here. It's not hard to figure out what Arum's game plan is. He wants to build up enough of a stable so that no matter who the boxers opponents are in these so called "super fights" Arums gets 100% promotional rights. It STINKS.
