If you are referring to Pavlik-Taylor. They did Hype the **** out of it! Started off with them showing This skinny white boy running through the slums of Y-town where Steel Mills used to run. All the Blue Collared men who worked hard Blah Blah Blah!

they did...about as much as you can hype an undercard fight. and they hyped it by highlighting edison and taylor talking **** to eachother despite the fact that edison was fighting kelly. it was as if kelly wasnt even there. in fact it was some of the most **** talking by an undercard fighter towards the main event fighter hbo has shown. a lot of that has to do w/ the fact edison can talk **** with the best of'em but still. that is why i mentioned hopkins saying he thought miranda was worthy of the reigns. its not to add legitimacy to edison its to show that hbo grabbed that line and ran with it. why else would they do that?

Zuniga doesn't belong in with the others you mentioned. He retired on his stool due to a cut that started with an accidental head butt. Zuniga continued to improve, and won the IBO title at 168 just a couple weeks before the first Pavlik/Taylor fight. (It was Zuniga who derailed the Victor Oganov hype train, not Dirrell.)

Zuniga vacated the IBO title for an IBF title eliminator with Sebastian Demers. Demers was injured during training, and pulled out of the fight. That should have automatically made Zuniga Abraham's mandatory for Spring 2008. Somehow Abraham and Sauerland managed to convince the IBF to allow them to screw Zuniga and make a voluntary defense against the great Elvin Ayala.

Zuniga's biggest problem was being forced out of the middleweight division. He could not beat Kelly Pavlik, and Abraham and Sturm wanted no part of him. He had to move back up to 168 in order to secure decent fights. In his last outing he went the distance with Tavoris Cloud at 175, and actually managed to win a few rounds even though he has no business at 175.

Pavlik is a great champion, he can come back to the top, all he needs is to learn how to deal with pressure and defeat

I have no love for Pavlik as a fan of him personally but as a boxing fan I love to watch him fight; always entertaining!!! I just wish sometimes he realised that a loss isn't the end of his career. He needs to be mentally stronger.

And ofc Miranda was supposed to knock him out! Taylor was HBO's golden child, heck they even had biased scoring in his first fight vs Taylor!! If it had gone to points Taylor was gonna win regardless of how well Pavlik boxed.
