Good to see him back inside a boxing ring all be it inside a gym.pavlik needs the all round package, good trainer 2 tighten up his game and a strength and conditionig coach 2 help him shed the pounds and stay healthy.loew is good but i think hes taken pavlik as far as he can.would like to see pavlik with pat burns.then it would be nice 2 see him back in the ring giving us more highlight reel knockouts.

I can't see Pavlik going anywhere again unless he can develop some new defensive skills!
Any boxers with good footwork and good angles in the the top 10 of 168 could be a nighmare for Pavlik. That said - a fight with Froch or Kessler could be interesting!

Its good to read that Pavlik is feeling better. Pavlik may not reach the heights he has reached before but has always shown a decent chin even when put down

Cool hope he can get back to the way he used to fight. I would still love to see pavlik-abraham fight happen.

Kesslers footwork used to be very good pre Calzaghe. Watch his fights with Mundine and Andrade. Andrade felt Kesslers foot work was what beat him and was some of the best he knew.

Why do people keep yapping about 160? Read the article! He is moving up. KP planned on moving up after the McKart fight way back in 2006. He stayed at 160 because the WBC offered a title eliminator with Zertuche. After that he had to fight a second eliminator against Miranda, and the rest is history.

Pavlik's record above 160 is 13-1 with 11 KO's. Five of the original contestants in the S6 made their name by beating Pavlik's left overs, or fighters who weren't as good as Pavlik's left overs. Super middleweight is an extremely over rated division. Those guys did not become P4P gods just because they joined a tournament.

There are some good fighters at 168, but P4P only a couple are as good as a peak Jermain Taylor. Doubt me? Who among them would beat Hopkins TWICE?

    I agree with you 100%.

I'm not prepared to write a clean, focused Pavlik off of the world scene just yet- he's still only 28. I'm still rooting for the best out of him, but the ball's in his court. He's got to stay clean for his family first, but for boxing as well. The sport's brutal enough without a fighter sabotaging himself along with it.

This is great news. I wish him all the luck in the world. He deserves it. I'll never forget being in AC when he won the title...almost blowing it in the 2nd had my heart up in my throat! Then the way he came back & brutalized poor Jermain. Good memories.

Now we have the future to look foward to. Nothing would make me happier then the see him smashing away fighters again. I'd really like to see him beat Bute. That guy is good, but one good shot & he's toast.

Are you still up for a Danny 'Lil Red Lopez painting? :think

good luck to pavlik, he seems like a good guy

if he can get himself together and take 2 building fights he can become interesting again. if you wana stand in front of pavlik he will oblige and in the super middles there arnt that many slick guys. andrade was able to land on bute in their 1st fight for example.

if froch wasnt going to 175 when he exits the tournament, that would be an excellent fight
