Froch, Dirrell, Ward, Johnson. <<<Either of these 4 would beat Pavlik.

If Abraham loses the semi to Ward, I'd actually love to see Abraham-Pavlik be made at 168lbs, as Pavlik's second fight after his tune up bout.

That would be a very interesting fight for fans that hoped to see it when they were fighting at 160lbs.

That's a fight that could make Pavlik look good while getting some much needed credibility back + I'm sure Abraham would be interested to get in the ring with a "name fighter" coming back from a long lay off and personal problems.

Anyone else would like to see it by September 2011 ?

Yes he was. Bute doesn't have the best chin out there.

However, did you see Andrade rough Bute up significantly in any of the 4 rounds of the 2nd fight? :D

Bute is slick, and wise enough for a Pavlik fight. Larouche probably watched enough KP footage already... you can bet the right hand has been studied and trained to counter, over and over by the time the fight happens (fall '11?). So I don't see Kelly hurting Bute here... he isn't quick enough. Whether or not he goes down on an uppercut/left hook, don't really know. He seems to be built for 168/175... the "he looks like a tight end" talks made me LOL. I think Bute UD's him, or drops him with a counter left hook (to the right hand) to the body. 75% Bute UD, 25% Bute KO in midrounds.

Bute's style is all wrong for Kelly. Those who wish him well shouldn't support a Bute fight.

Bute certainly doesn't have an elite chin, but it's not total crap either. Andrade doesn't hit like a *****, see the first fight. Couldn't connect more than 3-4 valuable power punches in 4 rounds, see the second fight. "One good shot"? Nah, you're at one end of the spectrum. Bute's chin is closer to that end than he is to the granite one, but he's pretty close to halfway point IMO.

You just wonder where he fits mw is a no go as he can no longer boil down and even if he could he can't beat Martinez and the germans seem to have the rest tied up.At smw anyone who thinks he beats Ward/Froch or Kessler if he comes back is deluded. At lhw his physical advantages dissappear and does anyone really want to see Pavlik Hopkins 2 ?

hold your criticism for when you see him back in the ring. kelly had no chance whatsoever to win the mw title either but he did. if he is clear headed and primed the way he was when he fought miranda and taylor then just wait...thats all im saying is just wait. you may be right but he's been here before. manny steward was literally laughing at him prior to the taylor fight.

he gives froch and kessler all sorts of hell and thats a fact. i'm not predicting anything but a prime kelly would give them a great fight. i don't think anyone here would say dirrell has more heart then kelly and heart seems to be dirrell's weakness atm. anyone who argues aa was on his way to a ko before that disgusting foul knows kelly could do the same thing.

bute...yeah i dont think thats a good fight but then again i think bute is the goods at smw. but so what if he aint the best at smw. ward the same thing. i think ward is a dirty fighter but i also think he is the goods as well. however, the first headbutt ward lands would be the last one against pavlik. kess may not know how to not play nice w/ others but kelly does.

go on and write kelly off. everyone has his entire career.

I still remember the very first thread I ever made on ESB. That was back in 2006. The thread title was, "What should McKart do now?" I asked what McKart should do, or who he should fight, after losing by TKO to Pavlik. The average response went like this:

"McKart needs to retire. If he lost to Pavlik, he must be shot to ****."

I honestly do not think I have ever seen a fighter attract haters the way Pavlik does. This **** has been going on for years.

Im happy to see him back

its sad how cut short his reign at the top was

I watched the HBO replay of that Martinez fight and what an effort

He was in the fight til the 10th it was close he put him down then Martinez just let lose and battered and bloodied him

I hope he gets back and wins and keeps winning Id love to see a healthy clear headed Pavlik in anotehr big fight when he is ready

he does. real legit hate. not the type of ticky tack hate that's in the pbf/pac threads either. it seems people really don't want him to succeed. of course some will read this and pounce on it and say that's ****ed up b/c they do want to see him again....but the fact is that kelly attracts so much hate.

he was supposed to be a good coming out party for edison, and he was laughed at prior to taylor. hell he was laughed at in the ams...which is how he got his nickname. he was laughed at everytime he got paired up with someone in the ams...the laughs stopped when the opponent went tits up.

laugh. in fact i hope everyone laughs b/c given his condition, he needs all the motivation he can get. however, no one wants to see kelly across the ring when he's ready to walk through everything you have.

The pic I posted came from the article. Over at that web site you can click on the pic and enlarge it. It is quite a good pic. Look at his eyes. The fire is back. All KP has to do is stay sober, and there's gonna be hell to pay.
