Pavlik-Martinez Outcome

Why do people only assume that to be a Pavlik fan you have to be white.

Im white and i think, and always have thought that Pavlik was 1 dimensional and a good but not great fighter.

Uless ive missed or am missing something i dont get the white/Pavlik connection, unless its just because Pavlik himself is white:huh

 

I'm still up gambling but I can't wait to get infront of my computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

This reminds me a bit of hatton after the mayweather defeat.....Hatton was suddenly back after the Paulie fight, only to be possibly sent into retirement.....

Pavlik gets destroyed by hopkins, beats up on some nobodies, and his fans say he is better then ever.....Only to get beat down by Martinez

I think you have to be American to properly understand their obsession with race. I know it's there, but I don't think I'll ever get it.

 

We live in a melting pot and the contents are always pretty hot.

 

Pavlik is from the mid-west. Are those really hick states? I always figured hicks populated the south and south-west. Sharing habitats with rednecks and hill-billies. Oh well. I'm white and my top 5 consists of Latinos and Blacks, so lets not start stereotyping here.

 

I've noticed that too, but it does seem pavlik's fan base is over 95% white....

 

Well, he's certainly the most notable white, American, fighter in the game today. Just another example of people rooting for their same race/nationality. But just because he's a white American doesn't mean all his fans are souther pig-farmers. Though I'm unsure if pig farming is more of a hick or a red-neck past-time.
