you also asked boo if he would admit if kelly wasnt that good if he doesnt win.

will you admit that sergio isnt a sure fire first ballot hof'er atg simply b/c he gave paul williams a good fight if kelly sparks him out cold?

the fact that youve compared sergio's abilty and "slickness" to hopkins means that you feel like that about him...

I've always maintained that Martinez was a good solid fighter! I never spoke of him as some elite fighter!!

You got me confused cause I don't remember comparing Martinez and Hopkins like that!!:huh Maybe I said Martinez has faster hands and feet but thats about it! But feel free to remind me!!

no. once again your talking out of both sides of your mouth here. on the one hand you cry foul when you think someone is implying that pav is a one punch ko artist and on the other hand you cry foul when you think anyone is implying that he can punch.

pav can punch. and 86% ko ratio, including every mw he's fought, many of which had never previously been stopped, is evidence of this.

most pav fans on here have been pav fans for a long time. aint much of a bandwagon to jump on these days cuz. and those fans have therefore seen the mckart fight several times and heard mckart's postfight comments on kelly's punching. "everything he throws has something on it." lets just take it at face value from a guy who had never been stopped that kelly can toss some leather

fair post and i agree with you :good

but lets not suggest that martinez is putting a whole lot on the line here. he's getting a huge payday (for him) after coming off a lose, his belt isnt on the line, and win lose or draw he's still earned the right and should get another big money rematch against paul. at his age, to get a crack at the recognized mw champ is a no brainer for him.

that being said, sergio is a heck of a talent and i have nothing bad to say about him. its going to be a tough fight.

all the ones that hold other middleweight titles dumbass. let martinez win a big fight in his own division first...or heres an idea...let him beat a name fighter first... sergio martinez is a good fighter but doesnt have ONE win vs anyone of note....he made his name off losing big fights.....so thats why he has no business fighting for a 160 pound title when hes yet to do anything in any division.... so STFU :deal

Trust me I would admit if I compared them in that fashion!!!!!

What I have said in the past is that Bhop kept Pavlik off balance and unable to set his punches up and I feel Martinez can do the same!!

Make sure to remember this post cause what I have noticed about Pavlik is that he when he's not getting his punches off he tends to lunge with a punch at his opponent and leaves himself open!!

i agree in part and respectfully disagree in part.

i agree that martinez will be darting around until he begins to fade under the pressure and that he will ultimately be stopped.

i disagree that it'll be like cotto/marg in that cotto, god love him, would not tie up or clinch or anything. he would just get backed up and, quite beautifully early on i'll add, box as he was sliding out of the corner or off the ropes. i can't believe he was boxing margo that close to him w/o tying up at all. i expect sergio to do the opposite. i expect sergio to dart around, throw quick combos and try to get inside to tie kelly up and do it all over again thus throwing off kelly's timing, flow, etc.

we'll see tho...as the football saying goes, "that's why they play the game." nothing is a foregone conclusion.

agreed. but it seems from recent reports that sturm is going to need to do a stint on "the biggest loser" TV weight loss show before he steps in the ring as a mw again

he's walking around at damn near the cw limit from what i've heard.

There has been some indication that his belt may be on the line if he fights Kelly instead of defending it. I really don't know other than some innuendo brought up here.
