Not known and not deserving of a title shot.. How can someone expect to get respect from the world of boxing when his last 4fights have against Medley,Geale,Taylor and Hamdan. That aint going to gather the interest of the overseas world champs. Its plain and simple hes doing something wrong. You just have to look at a bloke like Bika, who seems to get decent fights often.Bute,Calzaghe and now if he gets past Green will recieve another REAL world title shot..
Can you seriously believe that after watching the Medley fight that Pavlik or Williams would be reluctant to risk it against the power puncher from Redfern. But seriously why would any of the top MW's be interested in fighting a nobody like Mundine ? Other than Geale his last 12 fights have all been safety first affairs. I think he's lost his nerve to test himself out in a real pressure fight Everyone knows he has dogged a rematch with Geale.
Well tell us all who your supposed to fight if you cant land a big one. Should he not continue to stay active as he might get bagged. Should he just agree to any terms and conditions with anyone so the girls on this forum will be happy. Its a business, not a playground fight. look at green now struggling to land another name. It aint as easy as a phonecall
Well look at the past 4 guys Miguel Espino fought before fighting Pavlik, a combined record of 81-51-7, hardly worthy of a world title shot. All he had going for him was a WBC #3 rating (god knows how) and appearance in the first series of the Contender. Mundine has a WBA #1, IBF #4 and WBO #8 rating and won the IBO middleweight title 2 fights ago. Surely he is worthy of a shot if Espino is. If I was Pavlik, I'd go for Williams, then if not, decide which one of Mundine or Martinez generates the most $$$. I'm almost certain it'd be Mundine.
The problem with most mundine posts on here is there is that much hate in peoples replys it clouds there honest opinion.
Bull****...Anyone with half a brain knows there was nothing stopping Mundine going overseas and taken a smaller purse to appear on an undercard or even friday night fights on espn just to get the American people to see him and get him self known, similar to what Vic and Katsidis did, they both fought for peanuts overseas at first and took the risks now they are known worldwide and earn decent dollars. There was nothing stopping Mundine following the same path, but it clearly has come across that he won't swallow his own pride and expect big money or just doesn't wanna be tested, people can go on he fought Kessler though, fact is he was forced to fight him or he was gonna be stripped of his WBA ranking.
Exactly beacuse he fights cabbies in Australia and they all go the distance with him. He has fought top level opposition twice and been easily beaten twice. If you fight cabbies and journeymen types like Mundine has in the last few years than you need to be blasting then out and humiliating them especially when they are smaller than you. Why on earth would Pavlik's team fight Anthony Mundine ? Pavlik would get criticised for fighting another no name.
It's a tough decision for team Pavlik imo. If they fight another nobody then they get criticised but if they fight quality like Williams or Martinez then they may very well lose imo.
