Pav, in your estimation is a double jab- right hand robot... Well, that's two punches better than a single jab Mundine. Pav works well moving forward and his own reach is more than enough to keep Mandy on the back foot in avoiding lengthy right hands with a dose of power...

That is where Mandy failed pathetically with Siaca and Kessler.

Boxing off the back foot with a simple left jab is not even close to enough for Mandy vs Pav. Countering was almost laughable against Medley. No disrespect to Medley, he stepped up and fought a quality bout against Mandy- using a tight defence throughout that Mandy found near impossible to penetrate until the later rounds with the left hand.

Mundines power is no longer there.. nor was it there at M/W. Pav would walk through him.

Yeah saw the fight and I hope you feel better for actually posting something regarding the sport albeit sandwiched between nonsense. Pavlik can only move forward or backward and he is good at pressing the fight but if mundine gets off first and can make him go back to the ropes he can flurry and pick up points. His combination punching against medley was impressive despite medleys tight guard at least one or two shots would get through and score. When pavlik comes forward the jab and move or jab and hold should prevent too many right hands. This fight would be a case of speed kills.

He could have 3 Dutch judges similar to the one for the Kessler fight and still win

Im assuming you base this mainly on the Hopkins fight. Nard makes good fighters look like average ones, its just what he does.

Kelly knows what he is doing in terms of distancing, balance and distributing his weight. He cuts off the ring competently enough.
His feet are slow but his overall footwork is not absolutely terrible..Its not good but he would have not been able to rise to the heights he has if it was as bad as you are making out.

And yes his opposition has been much better then Green's...not hard to see that one surely.

 

Surely you know me better than to base his ability on Hopkins. From day dot I have not rated him that highly.

There is no disputing it Kelly has fought and beat better opposition. Moving up and getting schooled by Hopkins is more respectable then getting schooled by Choc at your best weight.
Which ever way you want to look at it Kelly has the deeper resume and has proved himself as a better fighter.

Check all my past posts regarding Kelly...He is FAR from my favorite fighter and though I do enjoy his fights, I have never ever been on his hype train ..I basically picked against him in all his major fights, starting with Miranda and actually thought he might lose against Zertuche at the time.

 

Imo Pavlik would beat Mundine by UD something like 118-110 or 117-111 or thereabouts. Mundine would fight scared and simple wouldn't let his hands go.
Does Mundine have the boxing ability to beat Pavlik - YES
Would Mundine beat Pavlik -Imo NO

 

A complete fighter who 3 fights ago couldn't knock out a guy that Mosley blew away 8 years ago. Impressive! A guy who is 8 years older, ravaged by drugs, fighting way past his best weight and has been KO'd by domestic fighters both before and after the Mundine fight.

Seriously, the delusional current amongst Mundine fans on here is reaching critical mass.

Well you are right about his power going not equalling completeness (is that a word).

By complete I meant Mundine now is twice the fighter than the one that fought Ottke, maybe Siaca even. Anyway my Mundine ranting days are over til he fights again. It's now coming up to footy season.

Mundines injury has held his power back over the last few years.....not being able to rotate at the hips and sit down on shots....now he's had the surgery he will be able to use his body to add force to his punches...its time for Mundine to start KPTFO....again :deal
