kelly pavlik is one of my best fighters but i gotta say he will have a tough fight against williams. Williams has got something 90% of other fighters don't have. He's gottta a helluva chin. He also has something 98.7% fighters don't have; he's got endurance like a god damn flyweight. Williams is a decent boxer who has a much longer reach then pavlik. Williams has got heart and conditioning that will cause pavlik trouble. All of that being said Williams gets hit to much and will succumb to kelly's hard straight lefts and rights. But it will be tough and kelly will get hit often too. I think it will be a very good fight but pavlik KOs him in the 10th. I can't wait.

Well I imagine he celebrates Christmas. That might explain why they take the 4th quarter off.

Either way he could fight Williams now and have another fight lined up for feb and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

I guess my only rationale for it is that Pavlik wants Abraham and doesn't want to train for Williams over the next 2 1/2 months (which he would do if they ended up fighting in october). It would mean more time to focus on the big fight.

Either way I don't like the waiting. And I really don't think the guy should be fighting two times a year anyways. It's pathetic.

The plan was for Pavlik and Abraham to have seperate fights on the same night in late Sept/ early Oct and then have their fight in late January.

If Rubio wouldn't have pulled out of the May fight with Lopez this would've all been a none issue as would've a deserving mandatory.

Outside of Abraham and Wright, Williams still offers Pavlik his toughest challenge below 160. At this stage, Pavilik could just walk everyone else down, not much excitment in that. I don't think shrinking down SMW's like Mundine and Green is the answer either. If he's going to fight a SMW, then let him move up to SMW and do it right.

Rubio is a walking K.O. for Pavlik..
what a waste of time & a fight.

Get the Abraham fight on already. (Only MW fight that means ****)
I say, Get Pavlik Vs. Rubio, Abraham Vs. Marquez on the same night.
Winner's fight eachother. WTF is so hard about that?

If Wright want's into the Pavlik sweepstakes...
he should go after Sturm and bring something to the table.

It seems to me like Kelly is looking at Williams like Calzaghe looks at him

Not exactly. Cal called out Kelly, the lighter man. Williams called out Kelly, the heavier man. And Cal didn't answer his own call. Instead chose to fight a man he has called "shot" on more than one occasion.

Hell i'd rather Pavlik fought Mundine than PW.

Why does Williams even want to do it anyway, he has just had big success in WW, why doesn't he hang around for a Cotto fight or something? Just seems pointless to me, and a wasteful loss on a solid boxers record.

Let's see if Mundine can even make MW and stand up, let alone fight. Plus HBO is providing the money and calling the shots to some extent. If they don't 'buy' the fight, it doesn't happen. Many people/boxers still underestimate Pavlik for some reason. Problem for the boxers, is they get hit HARDER than they think they are going to. :nut Hard to take advantage of those percieved 'faults' when you are constantly getting your bell rung.:deal

I think it is rather odd that people keep bringing Munidine up. Just a short time ago people were calling him a coward for fighting Sam Soliman a 3rd time. Is a guy who wanted Soliman a 3rd time really going to fight Pavlik?
