Pavliks camp talking of the possibility for a fight with Froch, why??? He should clean up his own division first, to me it looks like he's scared of Abraham.
Can you link me up? I am a big Pavlik supporter. I wouldn't call asking for Froch ducking Abraham by any means. Both are tough fights. It is disapponting though everyone wants to see Abraham vs Pavlik. ME too. I think Pavlik should actually take a soft touch at 168 first honestly. Actually I would like to see Pavlik vs Abraham at 168 as his debut, then go against a soft touch career super middle. Pav vs Abraham should not be at middle, both can't make the weight that well. I dont give a **** about phoney corrupt trinkets. All belt org members should be banned from boxing events.
If either Pavlik or Abraham leaves 160 before meeting each other (we'll grandfather Kelly in with a pass for chasing the payday with Bernie) that party can officially and indisputably be said to ducking the other. And again: that's not just targeting Pavlik; if Abe moves up or down in weight he can be said to have been the one ducking.
I am with you on this. How can Pavlik contemplate fighting anyone else over AA when these two are the best MW in the world and the question of who is No. 1 needs to be settled. The argument about AA not being a big money fight dont make sense to me considering AA would bring in allot of German revenue.
German Revenue: Arthur averages about $600K per fight. Pavlik made 7 figures for the 2nd Taylor fight, $2.5 million for Gary freaking Lockett, and $3 million for BHop. It's not difficult to figure out who commands the money, and who does not. Just do the math. I agree in principle that Pavlik and Abraham should fight at 160 before either leaves the division. However, neither is under any obligation to plan his career around what the other wants. It can also be argued that both suffer from the lack of viable opponents in a weak division. Historically middleweight has been the 2nd most prestigious division in boxing, but that seems to be changing. In my opinion 168 is rapidly becoming more prestigious than 160. Let's add Pavlik and Abraham to an already good SMW division, and then assume that Ward, Dirrel, and Jacobs pass muster and become real contenders. HOLY ****! It's no secret that AA struggles to make 160, and it was obvious in his last fight that the struggle is starting to take it's toll. Pavlik doesn't have it much easier. The poor ******* lives on cabbage soup the last few days before a weigh in. We should not be to critical should either or both decide that moving up to 168 is what's best for their career. Both are relatively young and have plenty of time for career defining fights.
Both are great fights for Pavlik. The bigger one yet is Kessler, but with Kessler out of the picture for another 9 months or more, that is besides the point. I think both fights would be great. Both are tough, competitive fights to pick for Kelly. However, in a certain way, Kelly should probably meet AA first since he can meet the Cobra later, but it is harder the other way around. So probably AA first if Kelly can make the weight.
I'd like to see Pavlik/AA at 160 just cuz that's where they've made their names. I'm gonna start going to church and praying again to make this fight happen soon. And I might even throw some money in the offerings plate.
Considering the way AA looked against #43 ranked LuJaun Simon you might want to pray for Arthur's health as well.
I just hope they get it on before these young guns @ 168lbs comes down & knock one of them off. (Ward, Dirrell ect...)
If AA can't make the weight any more, then he has to make that official and move up immediately. All I know is that he has trouble to make the weight. Abraham and Pavlik both want the fight. Sauerland wants the fight. The only problem AA and Pavlik have is Arum ffs. This fight is a must and it is a must at 160, because I honestly believe that AA at 168 is nearly unstoppable. His power will be frightening.
That beatdown by Hopkins has turned Kelly and or his management into a bunch of cherrypicking, Joe Calzaghe type, safety first ****s! I was a big supporter of Kelly at one time! now he looks to face the best cans available while avoiding any real challenges. Nothing Kelly does means a damn thing anymore until he mans up and takes on Abraham.
