Pavlik, P.Williams, Sturm, Bute, Bika, Pascal - Super Six Part Two??

Good idea but you can already put Andrade in there instead of Sturm...

 

I don't think PW wants to move up to 168. I think Sturm is perfectly fine with sitting on his title at 160. Would Pascal want to vacate his title at 175 for a 168 lb. Tourney?

Good fighters. Good idea. It's not realistic though.

 

Even if this tournament starts off good - I think there will be more tournament to follow.

 

Sturm is a very good technical boxer but has no power at 160. Even when he dominates and lands punch after punch, his opponents don't slow down. At 168 against fighters with a better reach who can neutralize his jab, he would be in big trouble.

 

Bute, Green, Pavlik, Bika, Mundine, Balszay would be the 6
Pascal is at 175. Williams never fought @ 168. Sturm supposed to be fighting Winky.

 

Are you sure that Dawson and Glen can make 168?? I've heard the idea for Dawson but I'm not sure if it is possible.

 

personally i think, that doing a tournament in the same division, would be stupid.

would be much better, if they did the same thing, with a division that resembles smw.

 

I don't think PWilly can do anything at 168. Forget Sturm. He makes a nice living beating up hobos in Germany, and I think he's happy with that.

Pavlik does not need a tournament like this. He is the middleweight champion of the world, and he should get ****ing busy at 160. Stop chasing money and super-fights, settle down, and clear out the division of every possible challenger. Anytime a champ clears out his division a new star appears on the horizon pretty quickly. Knock that mother****er out too! This is pretty much what Haglar and Hopkins did. That's why there biggest wins were over smaller guys who moved up, and they seem to have done okay!

the weights would be all ****ed up. you've got 3 guys who fight only at 160 (PW 160 and below), 2 guy who fight at 168 (nowhere else), and one guy who fights at 175 and just won a title. don't think this is gonna work.

 

Relax, the first tournament haven't even started yet. Let's see how it plays out.
