According to ESPN Exciting fighter in his prime but ultimately had too many demons that weren't helped by the fame of becoming Middleweight champ.
TBH i think it's for best, The Ward fight would of been horrible. I haven't seen him develop under Garcia IMHO on what he needed to he just looked same guy but not as good. I couldn't see him getting back to world clas level with any success. He was on way to a beating one way or another. Least he can go out with dignity if true.
would have thought he would have got one more payday. woul be shocked if he doesnt come back at some point. always annoys me that Calzaghe didnt take his 0
Shame really but if you havent got the motivation then it's 100% the right decision. Was constantly called overrated but he's ridiculed so much he's ended up massively underrated. A really good, exciting fighter. Good luck to him.
this what im thinkin he seems to be blowin it dont think he will survive with what hes got shame to see him to leave so young he still had a couple good fights left in him
Pavlik was an exciting fighter. Bit of anti climax to his career though. Pavlik hasn't been right for a long time. Hopkins really destroyed the kid didn't he?
****, i thought the last run was planned for this year! the AA fight etc..damn, he and his peoples must know what's best!
I guess the only fighting he'll be doing from now on is in the bars with the bouncers when he's had one too many. Nah, seriously feel bad for Pavilik. A real sad story his career became. He was overrated in his prime yeah but he was never as crap as most people liked to make out now. He was a very good fighter who was just hyped up to be a brilliant fighter. Just shows how personal demons can really ruin good things. Pavilik had everything going for him but alcohol ****ed everything up, even before he was schooled by Hopkins evidently. I'm glad he's decided to call it quits rather than just fighting on for money. When fighters do this it usually only ends badly. And if the Ward fight would have happened it would have been painful to watch. Good luck to him and I hope he gets his life together. I've got a feeling KP will be back boxing again before long though, unfortunately.
He's realised the bad choices he made with his tattoo spree, and no longer wants his torso seen in public? This content is protected
