Pavlik says he wants to "smack Winky around!"

Pavlik would have trouble landing on Winky. However, in the Taylor fight, the judges were giving him rounds when he was hitting Jermain's gloves and Jermain was countering flush. I see Pavlik winning via agression against Wright.

 

Pavlik hurt Taylor with a body shot in the 11th, so don't expect him to gas against Winky. Also, unlike his first fight with Taylor, he got rounds for his aggression in the second. I think that is the advantage he will get being champ now. Pavlik throws way too many punches to have a couple of flurries be round deciders.

 

Fair enough, everyone sees fights like these differently, I just remember Winky falling apart after the headbutt, and thats when Hopkins started to get the best of him, I had 4 rounds to 2 after 6, in favor of Winky, but after that I only had him taking one other round.

 

Not that I don't trust Kelly's abilities, but to step up in weight & immediately fight Joe C might be a mistake. After Kelly moves up to 168, he should have a fight or 2 at that weight & then pummle the Slapper. And by that time, Calazghe will have called it a career. Thats why he's calling Kelly out. Makes him look like a BIG MAN, challenging such a dangerous fighter that he knows he'll never get in the ring with.

Just like he thinks fighting an old legend like B Hop improves his status.:yep

Like I said, last week, I wouldn't have thought he would do it. But after that press conference....... His next fight is against a stable mate.

 

That may be true, I dont know really know what Winky has left anymore, but if he could pull it together and stick to his plan, he got a decent chance of beating Pavlik, his defense is top notch, and if he could keep pavlik hitting the gloves, instead of the head, he will land his shots when the time comes, and be able to flury off on him towards the end of the rounds, which may or may not sway the judges opinion in the round.

 

I don't think he likes Wright.

 

Hmm this is a terrible fight for Pavlik. I think probably one of the worst match ups for him.
Winky has one of the best if not the best defense in the world.
Winky has a hell of a chin.
He has a great jab and form when throwing punches.
Pavlik wont be smacking Winky around. Well at least not his face. Just his gloves.

I see Winky tattoing Pavlik with jabs while blocking nearly all of Pavliks telegraphed punches. Taylor gave Winky trouble due to his speed. Pavlik does not have that speed and i do feel he telegraphs his punches too much.

 

Pavlik will have no problems what so ever with this current version of Winky.:deal
